1. Objetivos

Unidad 3 (las vacaciones y los momentos especiales) ( vacations and special moments)
Objetivo principal: Desarrollar la capacidad para diferenciar dos tiempos verbales
mediante la redacción de textos simples sobre sus vacaciones o algún momento
especial.
Habilidades: mejorar la capacidad de redaccion, identificar distintas formas verbales y
poder conjugarlas correctamente.
Primer ejercicio: 1) Put the words in the correct order to make a coherent sentence en este
ejercicio el objetivo es que sepan reconocer el orden sintactico de los dos tipos de oraciones, las
en presente simple y en presente continuo.
Segundo ejercicio 2) Write 3 things that you use to do on Christmas using present simple en
este ejercicio el objetivo es que mejoren su capacidad de redaccion y apliquen el contenido
aprendido a oraciones que son cercanas a ellos.
Tercer ejercicio : 4) Write sentences with the verbs in the box, make one in present simple and
other in present continuous en este ejercicio el objetivo es que los alumnos puedan entender por
si mismos la diferencia entre los dos tiempos, pueden basarse en el modelo de construccion que
esta en colores en la explicacion.

Presente simple VS presente continuo
Unidad 3: “Vacations and special events”
Explanation
Present simple
SUBJECT + VERB (3º person needs conjugate) + COMPLEMENT
The structure is the subject + the verb that has to be in infinitive, but it has to be conjugated if there
is a 3 º rd person singular pronoun and the complement (the rest of the sentence) Example:
Andrea has breakfast at 7:30.
Present continuous
SUBJECT + VERB TO BE + VERB + ING + COMPLEMENT
In this case we need to use the verb to be, and to the verb we add ING to transform it to in its
gerund form (continuous) Example: Andrea is having breakfast at 7:30
But in some cases we need to modify the verb when adding ING because if we don't do it, the verb
will be miswritten. Here are some examples.
When the verb ends with E like in HIDE we remove the E and add ING (hiding)
When the verb ends with P, T, D, B like in stop we duplicate the letter and add ING (stopping).
*The main difference is that the present simple express an action that occurs everyday, but
the present continuous express an action that is happening in this moment*
