5. PA RA S ON HI-C ON PULPE R
Application
Hi-con pulper is designed and constructed for slushing
contaminated unsorted waste paper, offset printed newspaper,
wood free printed papers, laminated kraft, NDLKC, OCC,
AOCC & MOW etc.. Intense mixing actions provides
homogeneous fibers and suitable for quality deinked stock.
Process
The specially designed helical rotor is designed so that a flow vertical to bottom of
the vat is generated also that a horizontal reversal occurs. For these reasons the spirals
have a helical and twisted design.
The geometry, profiles, curvatures and large surface area of rotor
transmit the energy to fiber to fiber and generate fiber to fiber friction
due to hi-consistency. The process leaves the contaminants like plastic
uncut & helps to retain the fiber in its original shape.
This heavy casted rotor transfers all energy to fibers and the fibers at high-consistency
(15-18%) rubs each other gives better slushing effect due to fiber to fiber friction.

26. PA RA S ON DE -INKING C E LL
Application
The elliptical shape Deinking cell removes printing
inks from waste paper stock suspension. The slushed
waste paper treated in the flotation machine with
addition of water and chemicals for removal of ink
particles.
Process
During flotation process, mixture of Fibers, Fillers and ink particles are separated in
the flotation cell in such a way that only ink particles are conveyed to the surface
where as Fibers and Fillers remain in suspension.
The flotation agents such as soaps and other chemicals which are either Hydrophilic
or Hydrophobic. In the flotation process, the Hydrophilic groups act as frothers and
reduce surface tension, while the hydrophobic group react with hardness causing salts
in water to form calcium soap. These sticky calcium soap act as a collectors,
attracting the separated ink particles through dispersed air bubbles. Due to different
lifting velocity relating to the fiber, the dirt is carried to the surface of the flotation cell
where it forms the layer of froth which is continuously discharged.
