Following are the details of the projects carried out at ADE, DRDO, Bangalore
Project: Digital FlightControl Computer(DFCCMk2)forLCA-TEJAS
Role: Development & testing of the
Tools: MULTI,U-Boot, AITES, Microsoft Visual studio.
Description: DFCC is part of digital fly by wire Flight Control System (FCS).DFCC is has four
identical channels, each channel contains three analog cards, one digital card,
one power supply card .The DFCC digital module is the core of the DFCC unit &
it consists of a main computing unit for control law & redundancy
management, & MIL-STD-1553B, & RS422 interfaces to different subsystems
like Air Data Transducers, Get-U-Home panel, Flight Test Panel, Crash Data
Recorder etc. All hardware interfaces of Digital card, Analog card and power
supply cards are accessed by the software in MPC5566 by read/write to a
valid address.
Responsibilities:
 Development of Basic Boot Code for MPC5566
 Development of processor boot up modules.
 Peripheral configuration and initialization
 Schemes evaluation (Boot fromInternal/External Flash, Enable/Disable Cache etc) for
optimal access
 Involved in ATE development for SRU & LRU testing of DFCC Mk2
 Configuring test cases and involved in developing test methodologies for SRU and LRU
level for DFCC.
 Self-test code for all the interfaces
 Developed built in self test forall the interfaces in digital module. This codeis to be used
for evaluation and performance checkduring development and qualification. Self test are
written in such a way to provide maximum coveragewith minimum user interaction or
setting
 System Integration Testing of DFCC MK1 & MK2 used in TEJAS LCA
 Configuring test cases and involvedin developing test methodologies forLRU level for
DFCC. Developed minimal boot code that to be used during formal ATP(Acceptance
Testing) in AETS (AdvancedEngineering Test Station).
 At Advanced Engineering Test Station all the single DFCC with four channels are
connected together and their inter communication is tested.
Project: LEVCON Air Data Computer (LADC),Air Data Computer (ADC).
Role: Design &testing
Duration: 6 months
Description: The LADC is a Quadruplex LEVCON Air Data Computer and important
Hardware Configuration Item (HWCI) of the LCA FCS. The LADC will use
Primary CSCI to process the air data and outputs signals on RS-422 serial data
link to the Digital Flight Control Computer (DFCC). LADC will be interfaced to
Throttle Quadrant Assembly (TQA), Full Authority Digital Engine Control
(FADEC), LEVCON Actuation System, Arrestor Hook System and cockpit
switches.
Responsibilities:
 DEVELOPMENT OF ON-FLIGHT PROGRAM FOR ADC AND LADC
 i960 MC processor is used for performing the various computations in ADC and
LADC. The code for i960, called the On-Flight Program (OFP), is written taking care
of these needs.
 OFP performs all input data conversions like LAOA, RAOA, AOSS, TAT, RVDT, FDC
and also the diode voltages. The data is converted to a specific format suitable for
next stages of processing.
 Implemented a watch dog monitor for monitoring the health of the processor and it
assures that all the computations and conversions are performed within the
specified time interval.
 In case of processor failure, a provision is provided to dump the data at that
situation to a crash data recorder (CDR) and also NVRAM.
 DEVELOPMENT OF ADC TEST MONITOR FOR INTERACTIVE ADC/LADC TESTING
 The ADC Test Monitor software provides interactive testing of all the memory
locations of ADC and LADC. Also the EEPROM is fused with this tool.
 All ADC transducer voltage levels, diode voltage levels, Board temperature, De-icing
current level, and FDC values can be measured using this software tool.
 All interrupt tests and FIFO integrity test can be done.
 Inter ADC Communication Control (IACC) performance can be analyzed with this
tool.
 Involved in integration/debug activities of ADC at various test places (ADE, ADA,
and BEL).Few ADCs failed during Integration tests, worked towards their recovery
and setting up procedure for reliability. Towards this:
 Attended DI meetings for failed units – Problem description.
 Debugging & problem identification along with BEL engineers.
 Involved in problem rectification and retest tests at BEL.

per the required actions
