This message is Part 5 of the message series "I AM" by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message titled, "I AM The Way, The Truth & The Life", Pastor Chuck talks about life's ultimate question: HOW CAN I GET TO HEAVEN. He answers that question by telling how Jesus is the only way, the absolute truth and the genuine life for each of us.
This message was delivered at LifePointe Church in Crowley, TX on Sunday, March 12, 2017.
6. “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust
also in me. There is more than enough room in my
Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you
that I am going to prepare a place for you?
7. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so
that you will always be with me where I am. And you know
the way to where I am going.” “No, we don’t know, Lord,”
Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going,
so how can we know the way?”
8. Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No
one can come to the Father except through me. If you had
really known me, you would know who my Father is. From
now on, you do know him and have seen him! . . . Anyone
who has seen me has seen the Father!”
(John 14:1-9 – New Living Translation)
11. We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display
our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. (Isaiah
64:6 – New Living Translation)
12. Your sins are the roadblock between you and your God.
(Isaiah 59:2 – Contemporary English Version)
13. You see, all have sinned,
and all their futile attempts to reach God in His glory fail.
(Romans 3:23 – The Voice)
14. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked.
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking,
no one. But with God, everything is possible.” (Matthew
19:25-26 – Living Bible)
15. “Who can be saved?” they asked. Jesus said,
“It’s impossible for people to save themselves,
but everything is possible for God.”
(Matthew 19:25-26 – God’s Word Translation)
23. There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death.
(Proverbs 14:12 – Holman Christian Standard Bible)
24. Heaven can be entered only through the narrow gate!
The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide enough
for all the multitudes who choose its easy way.
But the Gateway to Life is small, and the road is narrow,
and only a few ever find it.
(Matthew 7:13-14 – Living Bible)
27. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
(John 8:32 – New Living Translation)
28. Jesus said. “I was born for that purpose.
And I came to bring truth to the world.
All who love the truth are my followers.”
“What is truth?” Pilate exclaimed.
(John 18:37-38 – Living Bible)
29. And we know that the Son of God came so we could
recognize and understand the truth of God—what a gift!
And we are living in the Truth itself, in God’s Son,
Jesus Christ. This Jesus is both True God and Real Life.
(1 John 5:20-21 – The Message)
30. Nothing could make me happier than getting reports
that my children continue diligently in the way of Truth!
(3 John 4 – The Message)
33. I came so they can have real and eternal life,
more and better life than they ever dreamed of . . .
And this is the real and eternal life:
That they know you, the one and only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you sent.
(John 10:10, 17:3 – The Message)
34. Jesus is the only one who can save people.
His name is the only power in the world that has been given
to save anyone. We must be saved through him! (Acts
4:12 – Easy To Read Version)
35. And even if the majority believes there are many
so-called gods in heaven and on earth (certainly
many worship such “gods” and “lords”),
this is not our view.
36. For us, there is one God, the Father who is the ultimate
source of all things and the goal of our lives.
And there is one Lord—Jesus the Anointed,
the Liberating King; through Him all things were
created, and by Him we are redeemed.
(1 Corinthians 8:5-6 – The Voice)
37. And even if the majority believes there are many so-called
gods in heaven and on earth (certainly many worship such
“gods” and “lords”), this is not our view. For us, there is one
God, the Father who is the ultimate source of all things and
the goal of our lives. And there is one Lord—Jesus the

38. EXCLUSIVI
TY
Christianity at its essence affirms
the exclusivity of the gospel
message and the inclusivity
that anyone can receive it!
39. The God-setting-things-right that we read about has
become Jesus-setting-things-right for us. And not only for
us, but for everyone who believes in him. For there is no
difference between us and them in this.
40. Since we’ve compiled this long and sorry record as sinners
(both us and them) and proved that we are utterly
incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us,
God did it for us.
41. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing
with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in
and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And
he did it by means of Jesus Christ.
(Romans 3:21-24 – The Message)
42. Jesus is the only one who can save people.
His name is the only power in the world that has been given
to save anyone. We must be saved through him! (Acts 4:12
– Easy To Read Version)
