How do the bloggers define themselves?
• 60% of the bloggers declare to blog for fun (hobbyst) and
do not report any income
18% consider themselves part- or fulltime professional bloggers (this means,
they declare blogging is a source of income)
13% are blogging in behalf of the own company (entrepreneurs)
8% are blogging for the company they work in

3. WHY ARE THE BLOGGER BLOGGING?
These are the main reasons people are blogging:
- 70% to share expertise with others
- 63% to speak their mind on areas of interest
- 58% to become more involved in their areas of passion
Bloggers who declare to be professionals (part or full time) still declare
„share expertise with others“ as first reason (70%), whereas the second
reason is „make money or supplement income“ (68%)

4. HOW ARE BLOGGER MEASURING THEMSELVES?
In this area it´s interesting to compare the stats regarding all the bloggers (fun,
professionals, entrepreneurs, companies) and the ones related only to the declared

5. MAIN INFLUENCES FOR THE BLOGGERS
The question in this area was: which is the primary influence on the topics
you blog about?
- 23% others blog i read (bloggers influence each other…)
- 15% conversations with friends/ family
- 13% print media or media websites
- 10% Social Media account i follow
- 7% Brand social media and websites/ brand representatives

6. The bloggers and the brands part 1
- 66% of the bloggers are following brands through social media (most followed
brands: Apple, Microsoft and Google)
-62% of all the bloggers declare they blog about brands and products/ this
percentage increases to 75% for professional bloggers
- 45% of all the bloggers declare to be influcenced by a brand
- the „brand related content“ having more success on the blog´s audience is product
review (40%) followed by advice about products and brands (27%)
- 33% of all the bloggers (58% of the professionals) declares having been
approached by brand representatives.

7. The bloggers and the brands part 2 – focus on
professional bloggers
- 58% of the professional bloggers feel they are treated less professionally from
brand representatives than print/ traditional media are
- the most popular „brand program“ (this means: fee-based cooperation between a
brand and a blogger) is product review (65% of the professional blogger would
participate in such a program, ca. 50% already did).
Other popular programs are sponsored posts (46%), brand ambassador programs
(38%) and traditional PR coverage (36%)
- 85% of the professional bloggers declares they disclose the cooperation with a
brand (no „secret advertising“)

8. The bloggers and the social media
- 82% of the bloggers have a Twitter account, with an average of 800 followers (ca.
1.600 for the professional bloggers).
78% of those who use Twitter are using it to promote their blogs (90% of the
professionals)
- 88% of the bloggers have a Facebook account, anyway just 58% of the bloggers
are using it to promote their blogs (77% of the professionals)
- further used Social Media are Linkedin (55% of the Bloggers) and YouTube (50%
of the Bloggers)
