more to be able to buy a home than compared to last year, according to a new report from
RateHub.
The report shows that homebuyers will need an annual income of $217,000 in Toronto as of
March 2023 to afford to buy a $1,118,500 home. That’s a $6,250 increase in income
compared to March 2022, even though the average home price fell by more than $200,000 in
the city in that time, according to RateHub.
You will also need to earn over $200,000 in Vancouver to afford a home, while the rest of the
country requires between $75,000 and $170,000.

There are many issues that need to address
as part of food security and prices.
@JustinTrudeau and his team continue to
impose regulations and taxes that will
continue to impact food supply and prices!
Grocery rebates are not the answer!

@OmarAlghabra your policies equate to throwing gasoline on a fire. The inflation target of 2.1% is
not achievable unless you have a shift in policy in areas like eliminating the carbon tax, addressing
innovation spending gaps, & improving productivity.

Critical metals is now important, right Jonathan. Canada NR
sector would be a global leader if you focused on NR back in
2016 instead you focus on expanding the size of govt. Your
policies also drag out the approval process for NR projects!

Over 2006-07 to 2021-22 the federal public service expanded from 335,000 [i] full-time equivalents (FTEs) to 413,000—an increase of 78,000 FTEs.
Based on the 2023-24 Departmental Plans [ii], the number of FTEs is expected to have reached 428,000 in 2022-23. [iii] This represents an increase of 23,000 FTEs compared to last year’s plans. The Canada Revenue Agency, Employment and Social Development Canada, and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada account for two-thirds of this increase.
Based on current plans, the number of FTEs are then projected to decline, falling to 400,000 FTEs in 2025-26. That said, this projected decline still leaves the number of FTEs well above pre-pandemic levels (382,000 in 2019-20).
Moreover, current plans do not include additional FTEs that will likely result from new measures announced by the Government in Budget 2023, which amount to $57.0 billion in (net) new spending over 2022-23 to 2027-28.
