E-Business Suite vs. Cloud ERP Key Differences
• In EBS, expenses flowed through Purchasing. In Cloud ERP, all costs (Inventory and Expense)
flow through Costing.
• In EBS, purchasing and inventory had their own period close. In Cloud ERP, the Costing module
controls all periods for both modules.
• In EBS, the accrual reconciliation process was performed in Purchasing. In Cloud ERP, all
reconciliations are centralized in Costing.
• Receipts and Payables Invoices are transferred into the costing module.
• Any Period End Accruals are performed in Cost Module (previously done in Procurement).
• Live dash boards allow management by exception (did not exist in EBS)
• All accounting is defined in Transaction Accounting Definition (TAD) and Subledger Accounting
Rules. In EBS, all accounts were defined directly on Inventory, Sub Inventory, and Category
definitions. The Cloud ERP methodology centralizes all accounting configurations.
