 For example: the telegraph machine was the
innovation of it’s time. According to Scientific
America in 1852, “ No invention of modern times
has extended it’s influence so rapidly as that of
the electric telegraph.”
 The telegraph is now an artifact and ancient relic
in the world of communication
technology.
What will the future hold?
Advertising in 2024
 The Advertising landscape will change
drastically in the next 10 years. Companies will
be early adopters and cash in on technological
advancements.
 Billboards will be equipped with face recognition
and interactive features.
 Retina scans, gender determination, age
specification, and even the attentiveness of
pedestrians can be determined.
 Companies will know their audience in a more
personal way than ever before and experience
financial growth.
Advertising evolving
 Billboards will be equipped with speakers and
features that allow pedestrians to interact with
this media instead of just passing by.
 Coupons can even be sent from a digital signal
to your smart phone.
 Marketing companies and Advertising agencies
will thrive because consumers are made to feel
unique and special.
In 2024 Advertisers know you
by name.
 As communication technology and social media evolve,
advertisers must keep up and create innovative ways for
consumers to not only pay attention to what is being sold, but
be involved with the process.
 Specialized microchips in cars, key fobs, as well as cell phones
will communicate with billboards to know who you are.
 These smart billboards will know what you like and market
items specifically to you, even calling your name as you walk
or drive by.

a physical classrooms
will use EBooks,
computers, and tablets.
* Lockers, backpacks,
notebooks, and pencils
will become ancient
artifacts too.
Children adopt new
technologies at a rapid pace,
thus making this new school
environment an easy
transition.
Education will continue to evolve.
 The normal physical classrooms for college students
in 2024 will become a thing of the past for many
students and teachers.
 Virtual classrooms will become the norm, with
students and professors attending sessions live via a
Skype or Facetime type atmosphere.
 Online students will experience a classroom
atmosphere with specific login and test times in a
virtual world.
Critical Mass Theory
• The more people adopt new technologies the
more useful and acceptable they become to the
population as a whole.
• Interactive technologies like virtual classrooms
can be scary, but many early adopters feel the risk
is worth the reward and jump on board first.
• These early adaptors are called the, “critical
mass,” and help pave the way for the rest of
society to utilize technologies that benefit us all.
The future of social media.
Imagine social media only 5 years ago? One can
only dream of the impact it will have 10 years from
now and the advancements that will be made in
communication technology.
 Videos will be able to appear as hologram images
hovering over your Smartphone or computer.
 Interactive hologram capabilities will allow you to
attend social gatherings, meetings, and events for
a short period of time through holograms.
 technology that is still in infancy.
Holograms
 We can now have hologram meetings, conference calls,
and visits with family and friends overseas or next
door. Facebook, and Youtube will now have 3D videos.
 The Internet basically erased time and space as we
know it, and this form of communication technology
only enhances our ability to connect.
 A 360 degree, real-time, holographic version of the
person you are communicating with will appear in thin
air using this 3D communication technology.
Social Learning Theory
 Human beings learn by mimicking others in a kind of
performance based learning process. We mirror
patterns of behavior as we watch our peers perform the
behavior being modeled.
 This can be those around us or even television, movies,
videos, and other media forms.
 If the behavior and usage of a new technology has a
positive outcome, others will adopt this behavior and
the technology will become widely accepted.
 Social media is social in nature and of course, “
monkey see, monkey do” will ensure its relevance.

  • 2. In the past...  Throughout history some innovations have maintained their relevance and others have died out completely.  For example: the telegraph machine was the innovation of it’s time. According to Scientific America in 1852, “ No invention of modern times has extended it’s influence so rapidly as that of the electric telegraph.”  The telegraph is now an artifact and ancient relic in the world of communication technology.

  • 4. Advertising in 2024  The Advertising landscape will change drastically in the next 10 years. Companies will be early adopters and cash in on technological advancements.  Billboards will be equipped with face recognition and interactive features.  Retina scans, gender determination, age specification, and even the attentiveness of pedestrians can be determined.  Companies will know their audience in a more personal way than ever before and experience financial growth.

Advertising evolving  Billboards will be equipped with speakers and features that allow pedestrians to interact with this media instead of just passing by.  Coupons can even be sent from a digital signal to your smart phone.  Marketing companies and Advertising agencies will thrive because consumers are made to feel unique and special.

In 2024 Advertisers know you by name.  As communication technology and social media evolve, advertisers must keep up and create innovative ways for consumers to not only pay attention to what is being sold, but be involved with the process.  Specialized microchips in cars, key fobs, as well as cell phones will communicate with billboards to know who you are.  These smart billboards will know what you like and market items specifically to you, even calling your name as you walk or drive by.

Diffusion of innovations happens in 5 stages of the decision making process. New innovations are conveyed over a period of time through people in a analogous social system.

Primary Education in the future… * The need for paper and books in general will no longer exist. * Through advancements in communication technology, students in a physical classrooms will use EBooks, computers, and tablets. * Lockers, backpacks, notebooks, and pencils will become ancient artifacts too. Children adopt new technologies at a rapid pace, thus making this new school environment an easy transition.

Education will continue to evolve.  The normal physical classrooms for college students in 2024 will become a thing of the past for many students and teachers.  Virtual classrooms will become the norm, with students and professors attending sessions live via a Skype or Facetime type atmosphere.  Online students will experience a classroom atmosphere with specific login and test times in a virtual world.

Critical Mass Theory • The more people adopt new technologies the more useful and acceptable they become to the population as a whole. • Interactive technologies like virtual classrooms can be scary, but many early adopters feel the risk is worth the reward and jump on board first. • These early adaptors are called the, “critical mass,” and help pave the way for the rest of society to utilize technologies that benefit us all.
  • 11. The future of social media. Imagine social media only 5 years ago? One can only dream of the impact it will have 10 years from now and the advancements that will be made in communication technology.  Videos will be able to appear as hologram images hovering over your Smartphone or computer.  Interactive hologram capabilities will allow you to attend social gatherings, meetings, and events for a short period of time through holograms.  technology that is still in infancy.
  • 12. Holograms  We can now have hologram meetings, conference calls, and visits with family and friends overseas or next door. Facebook, and Youtube will now have 3D videos.  The Internet basically erased time and space as we know it, and this form of communication technology only enhances our ability to connect.  A 360 degree, real-time, holographic version of the person you are communicating with will appear in thin air using this 3D communication technology.
  • 13. Social Learning Theory  Human beings learn by mimicking others in a kind of performance based learning process. We mirror patterns of behavior as we watch our peers perform the behavior being modeled.  This can be those around us or even television, movies, videos, and other media forms.  If the behavior and usage of a new technology has a positive outcome, others will adopt this behavior and the technology will become widely accepted.  Social media is social in nature and of course, “ monkey see, monkey do” will ensure its relevance.
