Patrick Goodwin completed an internship at Honda of America's Marysville Auto Plant from October to December 2007. His main projects included: 1) Conducting industrial hygiene sampling for chemicals and noise levels in 6 plant departments to assess worker exposures. 2) Performing a noise survey of the new paint building which found some processes exceeding limits, but no changes to hearing protection were needed. 3) Auditing the plant's powered industrial vehicle and electrical safety programs to evaluate compliance with policies. 4) Testing new shoe insoles for workers but finding the results inconclusive, though new floor mats were subsequently installed.
