This presentation is a personal reflection on needs assessment and service co-ordination from Philip’s perspective as an Individualised Funding user and employer of his own support workers. Philip will present his opinion about the relevance and importance of NASC, questioning whether needs assessment and service co-ordination are, in fact, services. He will also consider the strengths and weaknesses of NASC; and discuss the benefits and risks of changing the NASC model. Finally he will suggest a vision of how needs are assessed and provided for in the future.
