Question 1
1. In what ways does you media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of media products?
2. My media product used .... Well first of all my introduction is much like that on most media products. All it is, is a quick montage of a girl getting ready for school listening to music. The way I edited the music its self is common of real media products as it forms a sound bridge and goes from diegetic to non diegetic sound which I have seen in many movies before.
3. My media product also contains fairly basic camera angles and movements. I decided to keep them basic because the story its self is so controversial that new and different camera angles could only further confused the audience and my even discourage them from watching the entire film. Another popular media concept I used is using clothing and make up to help create a more effective mood for specific scenes in my media product.
4. My media products develops .... The main media concept that my product develops the most is probably the story line. It is based on a very controversial issue and isn’t really represented much by the media and when it is people tend to be quite timid about it and so I decided to develop this idea, and instead of pointing out the issues this girl is struggling with I decided I would leave it to the audiences imagination
5. My media product challenges .... The main way my media product challenges regular media conventions is the extreme change in the colour scheme. Most films tend to stick to the same kind of colour scheme all the way though where as in my film the colour scheme changes back and fourth dependant on the ‘Mood’ the girl is in. Although it challenges regular conventions I think it works wellbecause....
6. the full effect couldn’t have been achieved by just using make-up and clothing. Another way it challenges media conventions is what I mentioned earlier. The plot isn’t very clear, and it really does depend on the audience and how good there imagination. The chances are that the more imaginative the audience the more they will enjoy the film and I have never seen this technique used in any movies before.
