emissions affect the quality of life of individuals,
impacting neighbouring businesses or affect the
customer experience.
• Economically, by reducing the amount of grease and
smoke which enters the ventilation ductwork, the duct
cleaning frequency is reduced, heat recovery is possible
and fan maintenance is reduced.
• From a safety perspective, by preventing grease from
entering the ductwork there is a reduced fire risk.
Why treat odours?
8. • The proportion of odour, grease and smoke depends on the type of cooking.
• Odours are caused by volatile molecules found in the ‘gas phase’
• Grease and smoke are tiny particles and so are in the ‘particulate phase’
