1. Oskara Kalpaka Rudbarzu primary school LATVIA 2011

2. History Rudbarzi school was mentioned in Kurzeme province statistics book in 1828. For the first time officially Rudbarzu school was mentioned in the statement of the nobility in 1849. In 1955 the school reorganized to Rudbarzi secondary school where older classes (5-9) started the new school year in Rudbarzu manor house, but younger pupils continue learning in the previous school building - built in 1872 - about 2 km far away.By the time all pupils moved to the manor house. From the 1968 there is only primary school .

3. In honor of Oskars Kalpaks, the commander of the first armed unit of Latvia, 1st Latvian Independent Battalion in 1919, and his soldiers there is a memorial room at school- Hero hall. The memory plaque was made in 1934 and was attached at the manor house balcony. While the renovation on June 8, 1951, this plaque was secretly sealed into the doorway. On the anniversary 70th of Kalpaks, the plaque was placed back on the balcony.

19. School traditions Every week we start with a meeting in a hall. We tell what we have done and what we will do next.

20. Students participate in a school premises improvement. They make wall decors, window paintings, decorate classes and the hall for the celebrations.

21. Every year in autumn and spring we organize Sports day …

22. Our tradition is Christmas concerts.Students sing, dance and act scienes together with teachers.

23. In a special way we celebrate the anniversary of Latvia.On the 18th of November we gather at the school, light hundreds of candles in the windows and around the building, too. We listen to music and enjoy fireworks .

24. Michaelmas Students participate in various Latvian folk traditions, rites and celebrations … Winter solstice

25. Teachers together have their celebrations- play different games, go sightseeing, cook meals …

26. Students participate in international Comenius projects. Thereby they have possibilities to improve their personal development very much.
