As we continue to work our way through the healthcare industry, we have constantly recognized the irony of its workers often failing to keep up with their personal health. This irony is mainly due to the fact that healthcare workers have serious responsibilities, which often get the best of them. However, we have witnessed several healthcare workers who have been successfully maintaining healthy lifestyle, without compromising their productivity at work. How do they do that, you ask? In light of October being the Healthy Workplace Month, we decided to write about the matter in detail. This article outlines the top ten ways a healthcare worker can follow and maintain a healthy lifestyle while being active at work. For our side of things, we try our best to provide solutions that help lighten the workload of healthcare workers so they can concentrate on tasks that matter the most, for instance their health, as well as, their patients’.
3. Drink 10
Glasses of Water
This one is a no brainer. It is vital to drink 10 glasses of water every day. This can be easily
achieved if you place a 16oz bottle or jug of water on your desk with an hourly reminder set
on your computer or cell phone to alert you of drinking a glass. Water has many benefits, one
of the most beneficial being that is releases stress and keeps your body hydrated.
4. Bring Your
Own Lunch to Work
Instead of eating out each day for lunch while at work, it is quite beneficial both for your bank
account and body if you brought lunch from home. It may seem to be a daunting task to
prepare lunch everyday, but it doesn’t have to be. Take some time out on Sundays to prepare a
week’s worth of food. Pack them in brown bags or zip locks and bring each pack to work. Ideal
lunches that you can pack for work would be turkey and avocado sandwiches, tuna
sandwiches, or ham and swiss cheese sandwich.
