Anthropogenic activities have caused several types of pollution that negatively impact the oceans. Domestic sewage and industrial pollution introduce contaminants from households and factories. Heavy metals, agricultural runoff, oil spills, ocean dumping, radioactive materials, and thermal pollution further degrade water quality. While pollution has harmful effects on ecosystems, control measures can help reduce pollution, such as using less water and environmentally-friendly products, applying natural fertilizers, and properly disposing of toxic chemicals. Overall, human activities have become a major threat to ocean environments.

• Pollution is a major global concern all over the
world
• It has been suggested that it is the leading
global cause of deaths and diseases.
• Chiefly the pollutants originating due to
human activities causes pollution.

• Domestic pollution is the pollution caused to the earth by
domestic use.
• Sewage originates primarily from kitchen,bathroom,laundry
sources,food preparations,dish washing,garbage,toilets,etc.

• Earlier industries were small factories that produced smoke as a

• Land reclamation is usually known as the process
of creating new land from ocean,river beds or
lakes.
• It is the process of reconverting disturbed land for
productive use.

• By reducing the amount of water you use, you will reduce the amount of
water that flows into sewage treatment systems.
• Use environmentally-clean household products
• Don’t use household products that contain chemicals; use green products,
like biodegradable soap and all-natural toiletries.
• Apply natural fertilizers
• The use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers leads to water pollution
because contaminated water goes into the ground water and runs off into
nearby water sources. Natural fertilizers include wood ash, grass clippings,
and animal manure.
• Dispose of toxic products with care
Make sure to dispose of toxic products, like paints, solvents, and polishes,
in the right area.
