2. Mission Soccer Dreams Without Borders is an organization committed to providing educational opportunities to African children who are living on the street, living with life threatening diseases, have parents who are dying of HIV/AIDS or orphaned. The international language is soccer and the currency is soccer accessories.
3. Values Our vision is to solicit soccer accessories as the entry point into the lives of African children, identify soccer players as mentors who collectively with the help of professionals will provide education concerning good health care and economic opportunities.
6. Sister and brother African teams are being established with those USA youth associations contributing to SDWB.
7.
8. Outcomes Kids learn that is a substantive part of their lives that they go to school in order to get out of the impoverished condition they live in. Kids with parents that have AIDS learn that they have and opportunity to do what they like and make money too. Kids have the opportunity to get out of their poor communities through soccer and education.
9. Needs in the community Approximately 15.7 millions of kids are orphans in Africa. 69 millions of kids are unable to go to school for several reasons. Kids in Africa who dream of playing in a world cup are playing bared footed in dirt field. Kids don’t have opportunities to do beneficial things that’s why they get involved in unscrupulous things.
10. Brother/Sister Sports Clubs This program is about collecting soccer accessories and giving them to kids in impoverished conditions in Africa. They have to be in partner with the organization and they have to have interest in education and soccer. In order for them to get the accessories and everything to achieve their dream of play soccer in a team with the possibility to become professional is to enroll in school and get good grades.
11. Continued They attend schools that are in partnership with the organization so the persons in charge of them can look at their progress and see how are they doing in school and in soccer. They are being observed in a period of time and then it is determined if they deserved a ceremony where they get all their accessories to play soccer and all the things they need to become professional soccer players.
12. Critical thinking (children) Kids and the staff in the organization have to use critical thinking. Kids have to gather information about the program and its pros and cons. Children have to evaluate the program and see if that would help them in their lives. Kids also have to sort out their thoughts before committing to say yes to the program.
13. Critical thinking ( Staff) They have to take into consideration all the contextual elements because the situations the kids go trough are not easy. They also have to clarify the meaning of individual claims because all the problems kids face are really different. They also have to revise all the opinions about the program.
14. Critical action (children) Critical action in the organization is performed by kids and staff too. They have to interact with other kids that might have the same problems that they have or different ones. They have to self-correct themselves if they are doing something inappropriate according to the program or its rules.
15. Critical Action ( Staff) They have to justify procedures so the kids can understand why the kids are that way. They have to state results to see if the organizations its meeting its goals. They have to control their words and facial expressions so all the kids feel equally important.
16. Personal connection I like soccer, is one of the most important things for me. As well as the idea , of kids staying in school even though they are not in the best living conditions. The idea of motivating kids to learn and have fun and also have the possibility to be someone in the future is what attracts me from this organization.
17. Get involved!!! Donate any of your used soccer gear – cleats, shin guards, socks, soccer shoes, jerseys, etc. Sponsor a team or an entire league- donate money to sponsor a team of boys or girls. Volunteer to be a brother or sister of a kid in Africa.
18. Just Think Foundation This is a foundation that gives money to organizations that promote healthy lives. They also give money to organizations that prefer the kids to be actively involved in activities rather than watch TV or play video games. They also are a foundation that promotes a culture based on the activities and not the media.
