2. Masthalli-2015, are you ready
Then the next Mast was in 2012-13 during Rtn.
Raaghu's time – which was again a block buster. Raaghu
with his uncanny abilities of bringing people together
and raising funds brought out a hit - Masthalli event.
The then DG H.L. Ravi himself thoroughly enjoyed the
event being present at the venue throughout. There
was an enthusiastic participation from many clubs of
thezoneinspiteofovercastskies.
After three years Prez Venky plans to bring back
those glorious moments. Event chairman Rtn. Umesh
wants to give rehearsal for his organizing capabilities
before he takes up the Presidentship . Event is
nd
scheduled on 22 Sunday. Venue is our familiar
Masthalli village. Being a Zonal fellowship event ,
subscription of Rs. 350 for Midtown Rotarians is
mandatory (I think nobody will mind). Expected
participation is around 300. Entertainment for the full
family is guaranteed. For the kids- day out at Masthalli
before the annual exams will be refreshing. So what
are you waiting for – pull out your village attire, practice
some rustic village language, loosen you hips for the
countrydanceto thetuneofthamate.…….Ihavepulled
photos from the archives of Nandoo and Raaghu. May
be these photos of previous Masthalli carnival will
inspire you and give some ideas for the freshers in the
club.
Midtown braces for the Masthalli Jatre. One event in Midtown –which has drawn the attention of whole district
is Masthalli Jatre. Fellowship reaches its climax during this one day event. My first experience was during Nandoo's
period way back in 2003-04. The amount of creativity seen during this festival in creating a real village like scenario
in the Ursu Gymkhana club was amazing. Whole lot of District and zonal leaders participated with full gusto and
theirvillageattireisstillfreshinmymemory. PerhapsNandooshouldhavewonthebestclubawardinthatyearjust
for this event. After all what we enjoy in Rotary is the fellowship and especially in Midtown it is showcased through
thismegaevent.
