Rtn. Joseph Mathew was the incoming Assistant Governor for Zone 7 who conducted a club assembly for Rotary Mysore Midtown. He has had a long career in education and joined Rotary in 2001. During his term as president of Rotary Club of Mysore West, he was able to bring in notable speakers and the club received many awards. Rotary Mysore Midtown has done over Rs. 1.45 crore in matching grant projects covering areas like education, health, and community development. The president's message welcomed Rtn. Joseph Mathew and announced an upcoming president's dinner.

Club Assembly by Asst. Governor. Rtn. Joseph Mathew
Rtn. Joseph Mathew was born on September 28th 1957 in a
small town in Kerala and had his early education there. He
graduated in Arts from St. Philomena's College, Mysore and took a
post graduation degree in Sociology from Manasagangothri,
Mysore.
He joined the faculty of Sociology at St. Philomena's College in
1984 as a lecturer and is now a Professor. While at Philomena's he
was the staff adviser of the Rotract Club of St. Philomena's and got
interested in the Rotary movements. He joined the Rotary Club of Mysore West in the year 2001
and became the President of the Club in 2009. During his time as President of the Club, he
was able to bring the past president of India APJ Abdul Kalam and the then incoming RI
President Kalyan Banerjee to the Club.
During his term as president, the Rotary Club of Mysore West was able to get 32 awards
including the Best Club Award. He was a Zonal Lieutenant in the year 2011-12.
He is happily married to Annie Joseph who is a teacher in St. Joseph's Central School and
has two sons.

President's Message
Dear Rotarians,
Last week we had meeting at Chayadevi Anathashrama. Total inmates were 55. We gave
them Rs.15,000/- worth computer tables & chairs and also monetary support of Rs.5,000/-
collected through sunshine Box. Also we served food for the inmates. I thank all the Rotarians
for their generous contribution.
Today, it is my pleasure to welcome incoming Assistant Governor Zone -7 Rtn. Joseph
Mathew who will be conducting Club Assembly which is mandatory before Installation. I wish
President Elect Rtn. Vishwanath .R.S. & his team a great success.
