6. WHAT IS A LIBRARY?
A library is a collection of sources of information and similar
resources, made accessible to a defined community for reference or
borrowing.
Library provides individuals as well as organizations required
information and materials for their purpose.
Libraries often provide quiet areas for studying, and they also often
offer common areas to facilitate group study and collaboration.
7. WORK STUDY
Our project is based on the Library system of an Academic Library.
For the convenience of our research and project we have selected
Library of Manang Multiple Campus (MMC).
MMC has a central library for all department and courses.
The library is located in a separated building and all the activities
concerning the library are operated within the four walls of the building
for all courses.

Students has to deposit Rs.5000 in fee counter,
Submit Student id,
2 passport size photos
Extra deposits of Rs.200 in library office,
after that student are given library card and able to withdraw book then.
11. INDEXING METHOD
Step 1: all books belonging to particular course are distinguished
Step 2: indexing is done alphabetically based on books name, authors,
publisher, etc
Whole process is done manually..

13. BOOK RETIEVAL PROCESS
manual process of retrieval and query of books
Step 1: Students must write the Name of course, Name of book and Name of
author of books in slip of paper.
Step 2: then submit it to receptionist at reception and enquiry desk of library
Step 3: You must submit library card. (then some time window is given for
retrieval of books)
Student are not able to quickly access the book instantaneously .

ISBN of the books can be scanned and computers will automatically

28. HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
System based on Database management System
Details about books are stored in centralized server by the help of
barcode readers and the system also keeps track of the position of
books.
Internal library system is based on Client-server Architecture.
Members of the system are given with Username and Password to
log in from any device from anywhere

Administrator to control and secure the system from external
unauthorized users.
