2. Introduction
Computer and Internet are the most brilliant gifts of
Science. The importance of internet as an all pervasive
medium of the future has been well recognized. It provides
better way of communication and interaction.
As we all know that in present world every facility is
available on internet like shopping, banking etc. then why
not Online Voting System also.
3. Purpose
In this present world of technology it is required to
construct a way by which election can be conducted
through internet by each and every citizen of the society.
This project is a contribution from our side by which it
becomes possible that our Election Commission can help
people in a much better way.
4. Problem Statement
Many problems are faced by the people in voting manually:
Much time is required.
As it has been observed that in some cases booth
capturing has been reported.
Reduces the chances of conflicts.
Reduces the time for ballot counting and many others.
5. Objective
The main objective of our website is “ONLINE
VOTING” and check out the results after elections were
completed.
Another objectives are:
To deliver information about elections.
To deliver information about different political parties
and their leaders.

7. Technology
Nowadays technology plays a vital role in our day to day life. Nothing can be done
without technology.
Technologies used in our website are HTML5, CSS3 , JavaScript, ASP.Net and MS
Access.
HTML5- HTML5 is a Hypertext Mark up Language use to create and link web
pages. A markup language defines a set of rules that specified how the data is
displayed on the browser. The goal of HTML5 is to format and display data
independent of hardware and software platforms.
CSS3- A Cascading Style Sheet (CSS3) language specifies the formatting instructions
for the HTML elements. It separates the styles from the content, which simplifies the
maintenance of both the HTML5 contents and its formatting options. CSS3 provides
with different properties, which allow specifying styles for HTML5 contents.
JavaScript- JavaScript is a scripting language that generates dynamic content in
reaction to user’s action. JavaScript variables store the content, which can be
8. Asp.Net- ASP.NET is a server-side Web application framework designed for Web
development to produce dynamic Web pages. It was developed by Microsoft to allow
programmers to build dynamic web sites, web applications and web services. It was
first released in January 2002 with version 1.0 of the .NET Framework, and is the
successor to Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) technology. ASP.NET is built on
the Common Language Runtime (CLR), allowing programmers to write ASP.NET
code using any supported .NET language. The ASP.NET SOAP extension
framework allows ASP.NET components to process SOAP messages.
MS Access- Microsoft Access, also known as Microsoft Office Access, is a database
management system from Microsoft that combines the relational Microsoft Jet
Database Engine with a graphical user interface and software-development tools. It
is a member of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, included in the
Professional and higher editions or sold separately.
Microsoft Access stores data in its own format based on the Access Jet Database
Engine. It can also import or link directly to data stored in other applications and
databases.
9. Scope of Project
As this website provides better way of election between
persons and political parties, hence we suppose that this
project has a greater scope and is important requirement is to
provide a compact, stable system of voting with a facility to be
at home.
10. Future Application
Some applications might need to be added in the future like:
Right now this website is only for the Parliamentary
Elections but in future it can be expanded for various other
elections like Lok Sabha Elections, etc.
11. Abstract
This project entitled “ONLINE VOTING SYSTEM” is
developed in Microsoft FrontPage 2003, one of the most
powerful tool for web designing.
As a matter of fact this website is ready for enhancement
whenever new requirements or a need arises for the upliftment
of website. This website can easily be updated and modified to
fit the situation i.e. it is quite compatible.
