3. For the most part, physiological needs are
obvious-they are the literal requirement
for human survival. If these requirements
are not met (with the exception of
clothing, shelter, and sexual activity), the
human body cannot continue to function.
4. Safety
This ad is promoting
safety. By showing how the
tires are
sturdier, durable, and give
better road grip; this in
turn enables you to brake
safely.
Love/Belonging
The ad covers Maslow’s
love and belonging need.
Johnson & Johnson- for
caring the health and well-
being of people around
the world.
5. Esteem
This ad’s strategy, just like
many other luxury car
advertisements, states that
if you drive this car then
you will be perceived as
wealthy and people will
look up to you. I chose this
ad for esteem because a
car says a lot about a
person. When a person
buys a car they think
about how people will
perceive them. So luxury
cars automatically give off
this view of higher social
status and success.
6. Self-Actualization
Self-Actualization This ad
satisfies self-actualization
and esteem needs with
DIPIKA and TISSOT
watches. The strategy of
this ad is, if you own an
TISSOT watch you are in a
class of your own, and you
can take on a new lifestyle.
Dipika satisfies the self-
actualization need. The
watch satisfies esteem
needs because TISSOT
watches are expensive
and come with prestige.
7. Maslow's theory is over simplified and is based on human needs only. There is lack of direct cause
and effect relationship between need and behavior.
The theory has to refer to other motivating factors like expectations, experience and
perception.
Needs of all employees are not uniform. Many are satisfied only with physiological needs and
security of employment.
Maslow's theory is widely accepted but there is little empirical evidence to support it. It is largely
tentative and
untested. Maslow's writings are more philosophical than scientific.
8. • It helps the managers to understand the behavior of their employees.
•It also helps the managers to provide the right financial and non-financial motivation to their employees .
• This overall helps to increase the efficiency, productivity and profitability of the organization.
