Job Profile-
Joined ESSAR OIL as a graduate engineer trainee on 16th August 2004.Confirmed in August 2005 as
Engineer & worked in various phases of refinery project like SAP support/testing/, Project
procurement and contract administration, coordination in process units, offshore project, plant
handover & commissioning, maintenance & turnaround planning.
I) PROJECT- ESSAR OIL REFINERY-MAINTEINANCE/PLANNING/ CONTRACT
ADMINISTRATION
Duration-december2006 to Aug 2011
Role-Contract administrator / Maintenance Planner
 Participation in Contract cell establishment in ESSAR OIL REFINERY with help of SAP
MM/PM module implementation which covers all following work break down.
-Budget preparation and approvals
- Creating purchase requisitions & finalizing contracts for appointing consultants,
suppliers
- Performing the procure to pay process
- Supplier & contractor evaluation, selection & finalization
- Participate in Contracts Strategy for Project works
- Pre qualify contractors for various services
- Handle PRs, RFQs and evaluate quotes
- Commercial evaluation of vendor bids
- Commercial negotiations
- Prepare recommendation to award projects
- Issue LOA, LOI, Purchase orders, Works Contracts etc.
- Interface with technical departments
- Supplier performance management
- Post contract management & closeout
- Manage change orders, variations, claims
- Vendor development, pre qualification and registration
- Co-ordinate with the Finance & Accounts for timely payment of vendor invoices
 Coordination with project/maintenance, engineering, inspection, organize all the
necessary resources and services to accomplish all the project execution/maintenance
activities as per plan, schedule and priority.
 Estimation of various manpower, material & equipment requirements, cost for
projects/maintenance jobs/shutdowns & turnarounds.
 Preparation of job plans /packages and schedules based on priority to perform corrective,
preventive and emergency shutdown works and project activities.
 Optimum utilization of computerized project/maintenance management system in
monitoring day to day projects/notifications compliance and maintenance orders,
preventive maintenance program, collection of equipment data specifications and
validating equipment repair history.
 Making shift schedules, management information system report, safety training
Schedules, arranging technical training sessions with vendors & suppliers.
 Annual Budget preparation (both opex & capex), approval, resource allocation &
monitoring the maintenance & plant modification costs with respect to approved budget
through SAP PM & MM Module.
 Scope definition, raising purchase requisitions, Technical validations of offers for annual
rate contracts for services & materials spares, monitoring the performance of annual rate
maintenance contractors/vendors with respect to safety, technical skills of workforce,
cost, reliability, lead time in mobilization.
 Certification of contractors/vendor invoices, making service entries in SAP PM/MM
module, material spare inspections as per purchase orders & plant specifications, clearing
GRN & RR-UD through MM Module.
 Spares management & Procurement planning for rotating equipments
 Indigenous spares development
 Development of reports in ERP (SAP ECC6.0)
 Implementation of contractor safety management system in EOL refinery.
 Minimizing inventory cost & lead time by compiling spare part interchangeability reports
from different vendors, annual rate contracts for spare part suppliers.
 Coordination between process, engineering, material procurement, contractor
finalization, execution & inspection teams for implementation of margin booster process
schemes & other capital expenditure projects during plant shut down.
 Follow up for material, & resources with commercial department vendor evaluations,
their priority wise allocations follow up for engineering issues with engineering.
II) PROJECT- ESSAR OIL REFINERY CONSTRUCTION AND COMISSIONING PROJECT -
Duration-Augast2004 to november2005
Role-Project Engineer
 Follow up for P&ID, GAD, Isometrics, and BOM from process licensors & detail
engineering contractors.
 Making bulk MTO from P&ID,isometrics,final MTO from isometrics as per project
specifications for small bore piping
 Making consolidated list of materials & engineering holds for assistance & follow up with
procurement & engineering (With EIL, ABB) & vendors.
 Monitoring & coordinating project material stocks, material take off, fabrication, erection
mechanical completion, hydro testing, and flushing activities with respect to project
completion schedule.
 Assistance in Mobilization – Demobilization of construction contractors like Essar
Constructions, L&T, Petron engineering, UB engineering, metal craft.
 Arranging weekly project review & coordination meetings with PMC-I, engineering,
procurement, construction contractors, Clients.
 Checking & Certification of monthly invoices submitted by construction contractor &
monitoring expenses w.r.t. budgeted cost & expenditure plan.
 Contract administration for refurbishment of equipment & piping, wrapping coating,
cement lining, painting.
 Controlling plant hand over documentation to operations along with leak test for static
equipments & trial run, commissioning of rotary equipments.
III) PROJECT-ESSAR OIL SBM AND SUBSEA PIPELINE INSTALLATION PROJECT-
Duration-november 2005 to may 2006
Role- Offshore Project engineer
It consist of installing sub sea seawater return line (7.6 km long),crude transfer system(8.4 km long
sub sea pipe line with floating SPM, flexible hose assembly & submerged PLEM at sea bed) for
transfer of crude from VLCC to onshore crude oil tankages.
 Coordination in mobilization demobilization of contractors, execution of 5 km long shore
pull in just 11 days & 11 km long barge lay down in 12 days. This job was executed by
Valentine Marine Abu Dhabi.
 Installation of SBM(single buoy mooring) on sea water surface and plem (pipe line entry
manifold) at sea bed
Academic Qualifications
June 2004 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E) – Mechanical with 65.5% from
K.J.Somaiya College of engineering, university of Mumbai.
May 2000 H.S.C. science from D.G.Ruparel College Mumbai with 81.83%.
May 1998 S.S.C. from National Rayon School Mohone Kalyan with 87.60%.
