Pronouns are forms that we use 
instead of nouns and nouns 
phrases
 1. Demonstrative Pronouns 
 2. Indefinite Pronouns 
 3. Interrogative pronouns 
 4. Personal Pronouns 
 5. Possessive Pronouns 
 6. Relative Pronouns 
 7. Absolute Possessive Pronouns 
 8. Reciprocal Pronouns 
 9. Reflexive Pronouns 
 10. Intensive or Emphatic Pronouns 

These Pronouns are used to 
demonstrate. This, That,These 
and Those are all demonstrative 
pronouns. 
eg:- This is the one i left in the car shall I 
take those ?
 Infefinite Pronouns are used for non-specific 
things. 
All,some,any,several,anyone,nobody,each,bot 
h,few,either,non,one and no one are the 
common. 
 eg:-Somebody must have seen the driver 
leave. 
 I have nothing to declare except my genius.
 These pronouns are used in questions. 
Although they are classified as pronouns,it 
is not easy to see how they replace 
nouns.Who,Which,What,Where and How 
are all interrogative pronouns. 
 eg:-1. Who told to do that? 
 2. Which dog won the race ?
The personal pronouns are I you, he, 
she, it, we, they and who 
eg:- 1. We can’t all be heroes beacouse 
somebody has to sit on the curb and clap 
as they go by
 Possessive pronouns are used to show 
possession.My,your,his,her,it’s,our and thir 
are all persnal pronouns 
 eg:-1. Have you see her book ?
 Relative Pronouns are used to add more 
information to a sentence. 
Which,that,who,and where are all relative 
pronouns. 
 
 eg:- 1. The man who first saw the comet 
reporter it as a UFO
These Pronouns also show possession 
Mine,your,his,hers,ours and theirs are all 
absolute possessive pronouns. 
Eg - The Tickets are as good as over shall we 
take yours or theirs ?
 Reciprocal prounouns are used for actions or 
feelings that are reciprocated.The two most 
common reciprocat pronouns are each other 
and one another 
 Eg:- They like one another . 
 They tolk to each other 
 Like they’re babies
 A reflexive pronoun ends ……self or selves 
and refers to another noun or pronoun in the 
sentence. The reflexive pronouns are myself, 
yourself,herslf,himself,itself,ourselves, 
yourselves and themselves. 
 Eg:-The dog bit itself
An intensive pronoun refers back to another 
noun or prounoun in the sentence to 
emphasize it. 
Eg:- John backs all the bread himself. 
The cat opened the door itself
