2. When we last le+ the Squeaky Clean Legacy, our genera8on Nine heiress,
Elaine Goodytwoshoes, was about to depart for college. Elaine is more
than prepared academically, but she may be a bit too idealis8c and
dreamy‐‐

3. ‐‐as her Glinda The Good transi8on suggests.

4. Very prac8cal.
Elaine: I don’t think I like it. I think I’d like something more roman8c.

5. Almost nobody gets a good transi8on ouJit. That’s just a fact of EA life.
Nausicaa is Pleasure, and she wants 50 Dream Dates, but this doesn’t suit
her.

6. As for stroppy, tough Lenore‐‐

7. ‐‐it’s not just unsuitable. It requires a spork, carefully applied to the op8c
nerves.

8. The Genera8on Nine class of Goodygirls is very small—just the three of
them and Regina, LySon’s younger daughter, who was le+ as placeholder.
Once seSled into the dorms, the girls were able to change their clothing
for something that suited their personali8es beSer.

9. Nausicaa’s new clothing and hairstyle may be slightly daring.

10. Bunhaired girl: I love your blouse! Where did you get that?

11. Lenore definitely needed something that suits her tough, prac8cal
personality, and as for Elaine‐‐

12. Elaine: I wanted something pink.
Very Squeaky Clean.
Elaine: But I wanted something roman8c.

13. Nausicaa: I think it works.

14. Elaine: *bwee bwee bwee bwee bwee*

15. Elaine: Hi, Regina! Thanks for le[ng me into Goodygirls so quickly! I’m
ready to move in right now, if that’s all right with you.

16. The other girls had a bit of 8me to throw a party or two before they were
accepted to the sorority.

17. And they really, really liked their par8es, too.

18. But soon, even Lenore was accepted, and had moved into Goodygirls.

19. It’s nice to see the next genera8on seSle in, and to see Elaine make
herself at home. Goodygirls feels like home a+er all this 8me. And she
does fit in. You only have to look at her.

20. Elaine’s brothers and the other boys had already gone to college. You
may recognize Parsifal, who constantly talks about how his purity of heart
gives him the strength of ten.

21. It would be hard to mistake Nausicaa’s brother Telemachus for anyone
else.
Telemachus: It’s the family resemblance.

22. LySon’s grandson Albert has also arrived at Sim State.

23. Finally joined by Elaine’s third brother, Palomides, the lone Family Sim in
Elaine’s family.

Clean boys’ fraternity.

26. Gawaine, Elaine’s oldest brother, was already there, of course.
Gawaine: Of course. That is because I am the eldest and the first among
equals in our knightly band.
I hope you’ll be good at it.

27. Before I return you to the Goodytwoshoes, let me include a few more
introduc8ons. These gentlemen are, contrary to ini8al appearances,
Roman.

28. They are so Roman that Worthing Marius can survive the camo ouJit.
Vespasian Caesar’s imperial bloodlines shine through. Maybe.

29. They are so Roman that Zane Marius‐Jacquet can transcend being an
adopted child of an adopted child of a Legacy Sim and a French
Bluewater Village pre‐made, and Duodecimus Marius can transcend the
Goopy ouJit.
Let us not, however, press credibility too far.

30. Marcus Marius, the son of Cassius Marius and the simself of De/
Fireflower314, has been sent to University for a second 8me. This is a
posi8ve fiesta for a Popularity Sim who likes to throw lots of par8es.

31. It is nearly impossible to tell Romans apart once they are all wearing
orange.

32. They are also not good dancers at this point in 8me. Even Zane feels
called upon to comment on it, and Zane is excep8onally Nice. So a few
portraits may be helpful.

33. Marcus is my simself’s grandson. He began as a toddler during the
rebuild, and he’s since been sent to University again.

34. Duodecimus is a Fortune Sim, and the result of many Marius gentlemen
and several simselves, including De, Denise Avidreader, Penguingirl,
Orikes, and his mother, Purple Bunny. Do not worry about the fact that
Marcus is his several 8mes great uncle. Heaven knows I don’t.

35. Vespasian Caesar is a descendent of Marcellus Caesar, a direct import
from Ben/Blite27’s *Ten Caesars* Legacy. His mother is Meadow Thayer,
and perhaps the most remarkable thing about him is that he is an only
child, which would not have been his mother’s preference.
Like his mother, and his father, Titus, Vespasian is a Family Sim.

36. Worthing: Yay! I don’t have to wear orange!
No, because it looked horrible on you.

37. Looking horrible is not an op8on for a Romance Sim.

38. Finally, rounding out our selec8on of Romans, is Zane Marius‐Jacquet.
Zane is originally from Peasant007’s Devereaux Legacy, but like his father
Cassidy (formerly Ve8nari), he was a child refugee, and a+er his
adop8on, he does not remember anything about his trauma8c past.
I would like to think his unique combina8on of Grim Reaper genes,
adop8ve alien, Legacy Sim, Roman, and pastry chef adop8ve father is the
kind of Brunswick stew we specialize in around here.

39. These gentlemen will be reappearing throughout the University years.
Hopefully, this group portrait will serve the double purpose of reminder
and decora8ve item.

40. Last, but not least, the Weivtnasaelp teens have been sent to University
as well. Alexandra Goth was so eager to get out of the cab and enroll
that she clearly did not give much thought to her appearance.

41. She was joined by every other playable child or teen, including Linus
Burb.

42. Belle Broke: I’m keeping the coat.

43. I don’t think Dusty Broke thought she and Belle would ever be able to
come to college. She’s very relieved to be here.

44. The Pleasant twins also came to Sim State, though it’s hard to know who
had the worst luck in transi8on clothing.

45. Lionel?

46. Or Angus? Your choice.

47. It’s probably not surprising that Alexandra Goth, who rolled Family, was
as quiet and studious a Young Adult as she was a child and a teen.

48. Linus Burb was also working hard on the first day, preparing for a Fortune
Sim’s future in building up Five Top Businesses, something he did not yet
know was never, ever going to happen for him.

49. Even Lionel Pleasant seSled down to study. Sim State would be a chance
to make a fresh start.

50. Some things carried over from high school. Lionel’s rela8onship with
Dionne Dreamer was one of them.

51. Unfortunately, this was another. Nothing was enough to make the
Pleasants get along.

52. Dusty and Belle seemed to be staying away from all of this.

53. Angus: Why isn’t Dusty speaking to me? You’re s8ll going out with
Lionel, for gosh sakes, and he’s LIONEL. What’s the problem?
Dionne: I don’t know. I don’t pass notes in school anymore. You’ll have
to talk to Dusty yourself.

54. Angus: Hi, Dusty. Did I men8on today what a total jerk Lionel is?

55. Dusty: That’s ENOUGH, Angus! I have had it to here with you and Lionel
and your family drama!

56. Dionne: Hi, guys! Anyone want to order a? . . .
. . .uh‐oh, I’m ouSa here.
Angus: Why are you mad at me? I’m the nice one. He’s always the one
who hits me!
Dusty: That’s not true!

57. Dusty: You beat him up as much as he beats you up. Maybe more.

58. Dusty: Lionel goes off and cries a<erwards. Dionne’s seen him.

59. Angus: But Dionne’s s8ll going out with Lionel! It’s all his fault, and she
doesn’t even care. She’s hoping they’ll get engaged, and he’s the bad
one! Why is she ok with it and you’re not?
Dusty: I don’t know. That’s Dionne’s business, not mine. You’d have to
ask her. But maybe I’d feel differently about it if Daddy had remarried
into a rich family.

60. Dusty: You don’t understand about this, Angus, but let me try and explain
it to you. Belle and I go to class all day, every day. We work hard for our
grades, and then we work hard every night.

61. Dusty: When I’m not at the library or wriFng term papers, I’m tending
bar.

62. Dusty: A lot of the Fme that means bringing drinks to people who aren’t
very nice in the hopes that at least they’ll be decent Fppers.

63. Dusty: While I’m doing that, Belle’s working as a DJ. Luckily, she was
able to get a job in the same club, where I can make sure she’s ok. She’s
my baby sister and she’s almost too preJy for her own good. I don’t want
just any jerk to hit on her.

64. Angus: Not just any jerk, but a rich jerk would be all right?
Dusty: You shut right up.

65. Dusty: Yes, she did meet Houston while we were working, but I was there
the whole Fme! Houston’s rich, but he’s all right.

66. Dusty: He’s very nice and has a good sense of humor, and Belle likes him!

67. Dusty: Well, she does!

68. Dusty: Belle and I don’t want to waste our opportuni8es. We’re going to
work our guts out and make a decent future for ourselves.

69. Dusty: Our Daddy gave us everything. He’s never had anything to give
and he gave it to us anyway. He raised all of us all by himself in that
junky liJle trailer.

70. Dusty: And he is not going to die poor. Belle and I are geNng good jobs
a<er college, and we’re geNng him and ScarleJ out of that trailer forever
and making sure they never want for anything.

71. Dusty: While we’re talking about parents, your mother hates me. She
really, really hates me. I don’t know what I did to make her mad, but she
doesn’t look like a lady who wants to check what china paJern I
registered for.

72. Dusty: Look, I don’t want to be mean to you, Angus, but everybody
wants to move on from high school. You’re the only one who wants to
stay there. Even Dionne and Lionel have new plans now that they’re in
college.
I’m not sorry that I used to go steady with you, but I don’t have 8me for
this kind of soap opera any more. I have other fish to fry.

73. Angus: Dusty?
Dusty: No, I really meant it. Unless you’re planning to study, work, and
move on from whining about Lionel, I don’t have any 8me for you.

74. Belle: Aw, cheer up, Angus. She doesn’t mean it. She’s just really busy.

75. Angus: It isn’t fair. I’m the good boy. I’m the nice one. Everyone knows
that. It isn’t fair.

76. Over at the Goodytwoshoes boys’ house, Gawaine has been extremely
busy as only a Pop Sim can be, pledging the other boys and moving them
in as quickly as he possibly can.

77. Gawaine: Obviously. I’m really 8red of looking a+er the garden all by
myself.

78. It doesn’t hurt that he loves making best friends and pledging people,
and that this makes him very happy.

79. Really, really happy.

80. Gawaine: Welcome to the fraternity, Palomides! It’s just like our old Armory
back home, only more so.
Palomides: Meaning that we’re all knights and you’re s8ll in charge?
Gawaine: More or less.
No one wants to admit this out loud, but one reason why Gawaine is the leader
is because he is a very good leader.

81. He’s good at ge[ng people to join in and get along. Some8mes this can
be easy.

82. Palomides: Parsifal, did you hear what Taffy’s been up to since you le+
home?

83. Palomides: Bwah hah hah hah!
Parsifal: Oh. I’m a liSle disappointed in Taffy.

84. Gawaine: Goodytwoshoes Fraternity, Gawaine Goodytwoshoes speaking.
We’d be delighted to par8cipate in Rag Week. Will you excuse me for a
moment, please?

85. Bunthorne: I will NOT apologize to Parsifal. I will NOT.
Gawaine: Yes, you will. We all live here, and you will be polite and respecJul
to everyone and live by the house rules, the same as everyone else.
Bunthorne: You’re just favoring him because he’s your brother.
Gawaine: You know that isn’t true. I’m doing it because it’s right. Apologize.

86. Bunthorne: OK, Percy, I apologize, I guess.
Parsifal: I would prefer it if you didn’t call me Percy just yet. I’m Percy to my
brothers. And my friends.
That may sound harsh, but Bunthorne has been really mean, and not just to
Parsifal.

87. They can be a vola8le crew and it takes someone like Gawaine to keep
them together, func8oning, and helping out the girls. Call it ego8sm, call
it confidence, call it whatever you want.

88. Parsifal is also Popularity, and he may be a lot nicer, but that natural
purity of heart he’s so proud of means he doesn’t always no8ce when
someone is trying to cheat him.

89. Telemachus, like his father Ulysses, enjoys reading and studying. He’s a
good natured Family Sim planning to go into educa8on and he gets along
with almost everybody.

90. Palomides: Just because you’re a Family Sim doesn’t mean you have to
get along with everybody.
And how. Palomides may have a sense of humor and he may be a Family
Sim, but he does not suffer fools gladly and he does not put up with
nonsense. He’s even more annoyed with Bunthorne than Parsifal.

91. Finally, Bunthorne has to make a peace offering of cream puffs.
Yes, he’s De Beers’ great‐grandson and DG’s grandson, and he looks
rather creampuffy himself. They’re a handsome family, but he’s s8ll
ac8ng like a liSle snotbox.

92. In fact, the only Sim in the house who really likes Bunthorne right now is
Stephan, one of the placeholders, and that’s probably because Stephan is
really mean, too. But fear not: Gawaine will ride herd on all of them
un8l they are all friends, whether they like it or not.

95. ‐‐or Romans, Gawaine greets all of them, makes friends with them, and single‐
handedly pushes the Greek House to ziggurat status.
Bunthorne: He probably is the Best Knight in the world and full of chivalry and
stuff, but I’m not going to admit it.

96. Palomides takes a break from all the knightly stuff to fool around in some
leaves.
Palomides: Whee!

97. Gawaine’s forced to interrupt running the latest toga party.
Gawaine: Palomides, did you realize someone has to rake all of this up? You
ought to be more thoughJul. We all have to live here.
Palomides: I realize it. I just don’t always care.
Gawaine is very neat, and if I don’t stop him, he will wander around raking
leaves and cleaning things all the 8me. He’s a good gardener, too, but his
talents are required elsewhere.

98. This is where delega8on comes in handy.

99. Bunthorne: Gawaine says I have to apologize to you again, Parsifal.
Parsifal: That brings you out of the nega8ve numbers.

100. By mid‐semester, things are running well. Everyone is having more fun,
and they’re all friends, at least with Gawaine.

101. Palomides has a so+ spot for the fraternity Womrat, Saxe‐Coburg‐Gotha.

102. There’s also a party nearly every night. The Goodygirls, especially Elaine,
are usually invited and introduced to new people.

103. Some8me a whole household is invited and encouraged to join the party.
In this case, it’s the Roman boys.

104. Parsifal: You invited a Romance Sim to our party to socialize with our
sister? A Romance Sim who has been good friends with her since
childhood? I do not wish to cri8cize, but was that altogether wise?
Percy would worry even more if he knew Worthing’s LTW: 20
Simultaneous Lovers.

105. In this case, however, his worry is unjus8fied. Elaine and Worthing want
to con8nue to be best friends, but despite Elaine’s aSrac8on to red hair,
that is where it stays. For now.

106. Gawaine also oversees the produc8on of portraits for the house.

It is posi8vely weird not seeing Cecil and LySon’s portraits over there in
the corner.

107. Um, wait—that looks like a picture of Gawaine. Big ego?
Gawaine: Yes, but in this case, you boobed up with the camera. It’s not a
statement. I’ll paint Palomides again later.

108. If by the end of the first semester, the fraternity isn’t one big happy
family, at least they are ge[ng along and having fun socially.

109. Some, like Telemachus and Albert, are very good friends.

110. Telemachus: Congratula8ons on ge[ng on the Dean’s List, Bunthorne!

111. Palomides: Congratula8ons on ge[ng us through the first semester
without killing us or le[ng us kill each other!
On balance, I think Gawaine deserves a medal.

112. Elaine doesn’t have to deal with this sort of thing among her
housemates, which enables her to get on with earning her flowermaking
badges.

113. Of course, this is bound to happen once in a while.
Nausicaa: What do you think you’re doing?
Lenore: Ooops.
Nausicaa: I’ll let it go for now, but don’t do it again.

114. Have you never heard the expression “curiosity killed the cow?”
Cow: I thought it was cats.
Around here? Nope.

115. No, it’s definitely cows.

116. Cow: O, please be merciful to bovines.

117. Lenore: Hmm. I remember Mom told me what to do about cows. Now
what was it she told me? Oh, yes.

She really does remind me of Carmilla here. Sniff.

120. In addi8on to shoo8ng the occasional cow intruder, Lenore adds to the tone of
the place by pain8ng the house portraits. All of them take turns.
I haven’t seen the “painted a Masterpiece” icon in a long 8me, if ever.

121. With the influence of the Fall semester, Elaine earns her Bronze
Flowermaking badge‐‐

122. ‐‐and is able to turn her aSen8on to other things, such as throwing
par8es.

124. Zane spontaneously decided to flirt with Lenore, the moment he had the
chance.

125. Elaine: Sigh. True love is so easy for some people.

126. I don’t know about easy, but they’re certainly in love again.

127. Elaine: I wonder when I’ll find True Love. It’s taking forever.
