medalist of 2006 in the team race.

2. Childhood
She was born March 13th, 1985 in
Kolomna, Moscow Region.
Kate's parents always loved sports. Her
father played in various amateur
football teams, and her mother was
seriously involved in youth ski racing:
participating in the famous "Ski track of
Russia" she once even got into the top
ten.
Therefore daughter’s passion for sports
was supported .
In her childhood Kate did dancing,
volleyball and basketball. She also tried
skating but didn’t like it. She, then,
turned to badminton and achieved there
excellent results.
3. Sports career
Kate received the title of Master of
Sports in badminton, was
recognized the best player for the
year, but then cooled off. There were
few opponents at the time and
stimulus disappeared.
Kate’s skating coaches were
convinced that she had a gift for
skating and persuaded her to return.
Katherine’s specialization is 500-1500
meters. She now trains at CSKA led
by the famous Italian coach Maurizio
Marchetto.
4. Education
Kate graduated from Kolomna State
Pedagogical Institute, Physical education
department. In the future she may work as
a coach.
5. Achievements
• Bronze medalist in the team pursuit at the
Olympics in Turin.
• Two-time winner of the World Cup in the
team race.
