 Employees will answer the telephone(performance) within three rings(criterion) using the standard greeting(condition).
 Participants will be able to help customers achieve desired outcomes(performance) with appropriate patients(criterion)
with Cipla products, devices and services(condition).
Exercise: Examine each of the following objectives from a “leadership program”
& decide whether it is a well-stated program objective. If not, change it so that it
is acceptable, noting what component needs to be added.

 Develop an understanding of the leader’s role. Explain the leader’s role in today’s business environment.
 Know the difference between authority of rank and authority of respect. Distinguish between authority of rank and authority of respect.
 Understand the theories of motivation. Explain the theories of motivation.
 Know the characteristics of a leader. Identify the characteristics of an effective leader.
 Know the role of the manager in a team environment. Explain the role of the manager in a team environment.

Key Points
Objectives serve as the starting point and basis for
the program design & development.
Objectives are outcome based, written from
participants’ point of view.
An objective should describe behavior that can be
observed.
An objective may also explain the circumstances
under which the participant will be performing the
activity.

• At first, the practice of writing objectives may seem difficult, tedious, and
time-consuming. With practice, though, it will become easy.
