BCBSRI Uses E-Billing to Improve
Service
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) has given limited payment options
to customers and handled vast quantities of paperwork for the implementation of ACI
Bill Payment Solutions from ACI Worldwide. The electronic solution makes billing for
the insurer and policyholder easier during new healthcare mandates.
“One of the biggest challenges was to move from a business-to-business, to a
business-to-consumer model,” says Nate Bosgraaf, channel manager at BCBSRI, of
the industry changes. “As more individuals deal with us, we had to find a way that
we could adapt to what the members are expecting.”
Before the new project BCBSRI customers could submit payments via cash or via
check in person or by mail. Or payments could be made via bank but that still had to
happen in paper.
The ACI Worldwide electronic billing system allows customers to make payments
without the of traveling to the insurer’s office. The solution allows customers to pay
with debit and credit cards, which is will be essential as more customers take
responsibility for their own healthcare plans.
Deutsche Bank opens up in Shanghai’s Free Trade Zone
Deutsche Bank has opened a sub-branch in Shanghai’s free trade zone, offering a range of
capital market solutions to corporate and financial firms. The bank will provide cash
management and trade finance services with a focus on cross-border transactions after the
approval from China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC).
Shangha offers a free trade zone that is a test for numerous economic and social
reforms. The idea behind the zone, which covers an area of 29 km2, is to cancel out a number
of financial requirements for setting up a company in China by offering a simplified
registration process, in turn opening up investment and promoting trade development.
