‘ Wearing a poppy bruise’ ‘ Snowdrops and candles’ ‘ Gaudy scars’ ‘ In the four foot box as in his cot’

I used this image of a scar, but in the poem he says ‘no gaudy scars’ because ‘the bumper knocked him clear’.  I think he will have mental scars after seeing his dead brother…
