2. Description of Site
Velocity is a sports
performance facility that uses
certified coaches to teach
athletes of all ages techniques
that will help them compete at
the highest level they can
achieve.

facility.
3. Strength and Conditioning
Department
I interned in the strength and
conditioning department at
Velocity.
In this department, I learned
about Olympic Lifting
techniques as well as how to
effectively coach athletes of all
ages.
I learned the importance of
developing a solid program in
order for athletes to progress
effectively.
This is a picture of the weight
room I coached from.
4. Mission Statement
Velocity’s mission is to make the joy of athletic
achievement attainable to all. When we ask our
athletes, "Why Do You Train"? we want to hear
more than "to get faster" or "to play five minutes
longer." What gets an athlete on the field for four
hours of grueling practice? Is it desire? Belief?
What keeps a second-string player practicing long
after practice has ended? Pride? Determination?
5. Velocity Core Values
The STACK Velocity Sports Performance Values - or V-Truths -
are the result of our intent to become more than just another
sports training company. And as the largest provider of sports
performance training in the nation, "just another" isn't an option.
Our V-Truths - Desire, Belief, Character, Determination,
Heart, and Pride - guide everything we do and say, how we train
our athletes, and how we run our business. These values
permeate our entire organization, from the CEO to our coaches,
from our customers to our franchisees, making us one of the
most positive, passionate places for both kids and adults to
experience the joy of athleticism.
6. Roles And Duties
My official title during my internship was an “Assistant Sports
Performance Coach”
I developed programs that helped athletes get faster and stronger.
I studied the human body and how it works.
I cultivated my coaching ability as I worked with a wide range of ages
and athletic abilities.
I learned what it takes to run a successful sports performance facility.

Staff Wall.
It lists my certifications, bio,
philosophy and favorite quote.
8. V-Fit
Part of my internship gave me the opportunity to teach
an adult fitness class.
Adult fitness classes gave me the opportunity to teach
principles of fitness to adults who want to stay in
shape.
9. This is a picture of me working
balance principles with an 81
year old client.
10. V-Fitness Endurance Project
For one of my projects, I created a 6 week endurance
challenge for our adult athletes.
I designed a program for them that would increase
overall fitness and endurance.
I selected 6 tests that I felt would accurately gauge
their abilities.
I had a pre-test and a post test 6 weeks later. I
recorded the results and everyone improved in every
area!
11. Olympic Lifting
This is a picture of me correcting
form of one of our beginner
athletes performing a front squat.
12. Female Athletes
In this picture I am teaching
an athlete how to keep her
core tight while exercising.
I am using a resistance
band to help her technique.
13. Women’s Clinic
One project that I was most excited about was our
Velocity Women’s Clinic.
After working with a few female athletes, I noticed
many were not fully aware of how their own bodies
worked.
I put together a PowerPoint that dispelled many
popular myths regarding women and fitness.
We hosted a free clinic for all females in the
community and I educated them.
14. Carolina High School
This is a picture of me
coaching at a local high
school.
We are performing static
stretches after a very
draining work out.
Athletes that are not flexible
will be subject to more
injuries. We focus on
flexibility to prevent injuries.
15. Carolina High School Project
In addition to my on site responsibilities, I also went off
site to work with a local High School.
I was in charge of teaching movement, strength, and
conditioning to an off season football team.
I developed a program that would take them from
January until Spring Football practice started.
Using the 40 yard dash, vertical jump, and 5-10-5 shuttle
I will be able to see any changes in speed,
explosiveness and change of direction techniques.
We will conduct a post test on April 28th.
16. Conclusion
I am extremely thankful for my time at Velocity Sports
performance.
My favorite aspect of my job was having the ability to
coach all types of athletes. This wide range gave me
great insight to my future career goals.
I had a great mentor that took time to develop me and
teach me.
I have been offered a job at Velocity upon graduation.
