Maria asks…

Hotels to stay in Kuala Lumpur?
Hi Everyone,
I am going to be visiting Kuala lumpur with my family this year during the last week of DEC
29th -2nd Jan.

I would like to stay within the walking distance of the twin towers, Bukit Bintang, golden triangle
etc. Please suggest me hotels that are located in this area, preferably in a newer property or
ones with a nicer ambiance.

Many thanks for your help,
Navin

Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:

Hey, Okay well if you want a hotel near the Twin Towers u have
*Mandarin Oriental*
*The Traders and
*Hotel Maya!

If u want it at the Bukit Bintang street, which you’ll have lots of shopping malls around you
these are good hotels
*JW Marriot
* The westin
*Grand Millennium

                                                                                                1/6
*Park Royal

MALAYSIA – KUALA LUMPUR (for those who’s been or lives in
KL)?
Hi guys, i asked a question yesterday about Thailand & totally forgot i was meant to ask about
KL as wells. So i was wondering if you guys know any easy, cheap & trustworthy site to use to
book accommodation in Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia?

I’ve been looking around on Malaysia accommodation websites but they don’t seem to do
transfer services, how else could i get transfers organised (both pick up and drop off at airport)
??
Or is KL simply easy to grab a taxi in front of your hotel? oh.. and what is the average price to
pay for transfers?

One more question: Which location do you recommend to stay at, Golden Triangle / Bukit
Bintang OR Kuala Lumpur City Center ..? (prefer heaps of food around, night light &
shopping)

                                                                                              2/6
I really need some help on this, i’ve no idea what so ever. Will appreciate ALL answers, thank
you!!
Thanks Recycle M, not the exact answer i was looking for but thank you anyways.

Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:

Hi,

For a good website, u can try this site:

http://www.holidaycity.com/kualalumpurhotels/

Quite detailed site with maps, etc and also with plenty of hotels to choose from. As for where to
stay, u strongly suggest Bukit Bintang, its lively 24 hrs daily and being at the heart of Kuala
Lumpur, other locations are easily accessible via taxis, LRT (automated inter city train service),
tons of public buses etc. Bukit Bintang has many places to eat, especially roadside stalls which
u’ll be surprised that the food tastes real good, despite being cheap. More info on Kuala
Lumpur’s main attraction sites etc, check this out;

http://www.tourism.gov.my/en/destinations/state.asp?state=kl

Enjoy your stay!!

                                                                                             3/6
Staying at the Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, what do I take to go to
the Kuala Lumpur city center?
Such as Bukit Bintang and all the malls and that.

Besides taxi, obviously

Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:

There is a hop on hop off bus that does a circle around the City Centre. The ticket lasts for 24
hours so if you bought it at 11am then you can use it the next day until 11am. Well worth it. It
stops at all the interesting places and runs each half hour so if you want a couple of hours
around petrona towers then when you are ready just hop on the next Hop on hop off bus. It
takes over an hour to do the circuit and you get a map of stopping places such as Little india or
the gardens etc.

Sharon asks…

where are the best places to shop in Kuala Lumpur?
I am visiting KL for a short shopping holiday this Christmas.

I have been to KL last year for shopping. i visited Suria KLCC ( way too pricey), China town and
little India (found some great deals at both places).

                                                                                            4/6
Can anyone tell me any other places for cheap clothing, shoes, bags and also some textile.

My hotel is in KLCC so any place closer to that or around china town, bukit bintang areas
would be better.

Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:

We like Sungei Wang Plaza in the Golden Triangle area. The plaza has more than 500 retailers.

You can get to Sungei Wang Plaza by the STAR light rail service. The nearest station is the
Jalan Hang Tuah and the Plaza Rakyat stations, which are about 15-minutes walk from Sungei
Wang. A feeder bus service rotates between the different LRT stops every half an hour, which
will take you to Sungei Wang Plaza.

Mandy asks…

where to go and stay in kuala lumpur?
im looking at places in the ‘golden triangle’ close to Bukit Bintang???

the hotel/hostel is called pujangga? can anyone advise me if this is a good place to go/stay/do. i
want to be in the busiest parts.

                                                                                            5/6
Cuti-cuti Malaysia answers:

I know the hostel and i would say it is not bad actually. It is better to draw your own conclusion
so try out this link for more reviews of Pujangga Homestay:
                                   http://www.hostels.com/en/Reviews/Pujangga-Homestay/5608/

However there are other good hotels too in Golden Triangle area if you want to have more
options just in case the hostel is full:
                                   http://www.hoteltravel.com/malaysia/kualalumpur/golden_triangle_map.htm

Make a bit research of Golden Triangle so you will have an better idea of it:
                                   http://www.kuala-lumpur.ws/klareas/golden.html

                                   Have a nice trip.
