Mandy asks…
positive ovulation test does this mean im ovulating now or am i
about to?
This is my 1st month using ovulation tests, today is the 1st day i have tested positive. Im on
cycle day 12. So is today my ovulation day or can it be anytime over the next few days?
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
Usually, when an OPK is positive, it means you’ll be ovulating in the next 12-24 or 24-36 hours
depending on the test you’ve purchased. I use Answer OPK’s and it predicts for the following
24-36 hours.

2. Lizzie asks…
how many days can you test a positive ovulation test?
Me and my husband are trying to get pregnant and Iv been taking ovulation test and iv had a
positive answer for 4 days now…so I’m wondering how many days can you test positive on an
ovulation test, or is it showing me that I’m pregnant.
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
My OPK is ALWAYS positive. The brand is Answers. I have had some other people complain as
well. I did not use my first morning urine and tested in the afternoon as directed on the box and I
still always get a positive result. Maybe it means our LH is higher in general and it can
distinguish a surge. Just a thought.

3. Is there a good chance of me being pregnant if i had sex 4 hours
before a positive ovulation test?
My period came June 3rd.. I took an ovulation test June the 8th at 6:00 pm that tested
positive… I had sex about 4 hours before I took the test… But I took another test about 10:00
pm that same night that was negative… What does this mean?? And is it normal to ovulate just 6
days after?? My cycle is usually around 20-22 days..
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
Period usually comes 14 days after ovulation,
so 20 – 14 = 6
So it is normal if you ovulate at day 6
people who’s cycle is 28 day ovulate usually at day 14 coz
28 – 14 = 14
Usually the shorter the cycle the quicker you ovulate and vice versa

your pregnancy
Laura asks…
When do you count 1DPO the day after a positive ovulation test or
that day?
I am ttc and was wondering when you all count your DPO do you count day one as the day you
get a positive on your ovulation strip test or the day after. I have been doing it the day after as
I assume that I ovulate 24-36 hours after a positive test. Is this what other people do I am
wondering?

5. Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
Hiya
It all depends with OPK’s if you got a positive and then a negative test the next day then use
the last positive test. It’s different with every one, i had a positive OPK the day before i ovulated
and on the day of Ovulation it was negaative, however some women get a positive on the day of
Ovulation.
Therefore I would say that’s why charting and combining all fertility signs is better than just
using OPK’s alone. But going on what happened to me I got a positive CD 20 & CD21,
Ovulated CD22 (Negative OPK) and my DPO count:
CD 23 = 1DPO
CD24 = 2DPO
CD25 = 3DPO
Hope i helped hun have a look at my chart and you will see what i mean. Good luck hope you
get your BFP

Sandy asks…
Once you test positive for ovulation, for how long will you
continue to test positive?
5/6
6. Hello. I took an ovulation test this morning and got a strong positive result. I took 2 tests later
in the evening and have gotten negative results. Could the first test have been a false positive
? Or is it that once you test positive, you will only test positive for a short period of time
(several hours)? I’m really confused. Please help. Thanks.
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
The length of time in which your OPK will register positive varies from person to person. The
window in which you register the LH surge can be as short as five hours or as long as two days
if you happen to catch it both as the hormone increases and decreases in your urine. In your
case, since you had a strong positive result, I’d say that chances are you just had a short
window.
