The Portfolio contains 6 major assignments completed during a 2 month long course. It has been a great learning experience. As you may notice, four assignments did not play because they are in word format. I have added the four files separately.
2. PROCEDURE WRITING LESSON PLAN
This lesson is a revised version by integrating
technology-the utilization of Promethean Board.
Students are required to put the steps in order by
moving the pictures on the board. Then they add
the transitional words to connect the pictures. At
last, students write down the procedures on the
board. As a follow up activity, students work in
groups to complete a hands-on activity to help them
understand the concept of Procedure Writing
further. I find that my students enjoyed the hands
on activity such as moving around the pictures on
the Promethean Board.
4. NEWS LETTER
I CREATED THIS NEWSLETTER TO KEEP THE
STUDENTS AND PARENTS INFORMED ON SCHOOL
SUCH AS EQAO, UPCOMING EVENTS, AND
HEALTHY LIVING TIPS. MY STUDENTS LOVE IT!

5. POETRY LESSON TEMPLATE
I used M.S. word to create the template for Poetry
Introduction on Imagery-Senses. Students may
type in the answers by reading the poem provided.
It can be a diagnostic assessment for me to
understand what levels students are at. Then I will
directly teach students the literacy devices used in
poetry.
7. CYBER BULLYING LESSON PLAN
One student once came to me and said, “Ms. Li,
you know John Smith will post my picture on the
facebook and I am afraid that he will make nasty
comments on me.” It made me think that raising
awareness on Cyber Bullying is critical in order to
create a friendly and peaceful environment at
school. That’s why I pick the lesson, which is
beneficial for the students to learn that cyber bulling
hurts.
8. WEBQUEST-2012 SUMMER OLYMPICS
Our school has been selected as one of the Sports
and Wellness schools in TDSB. I was thinking that
this assignment will be a perfect opportunity for me
to design a WebQuest on living a healthy life.
Summer Olymipic Games is a good start point.
Students can research the Canadian athletes, the
main events, and create a poster on Olympic Spirits
that we need in our daily life.
10. POWERPOINT PRESENTATION-INFERENCE
I have created this Power Point Presentation on
Inference. I find that my students have difficulty
understanding how to use the clues from the text
and their own experience to infer the main message
of the text. Also inference is one of the key
concepts assessed during EQAO.
