2. I am privileged to forward a unique and exciting proposal for your kind consideration and guidance. Here it is. Ujjal Pal , s/o Sri Saktidhar Pal of Suri, Birbhum, West Bengal is undertaking an ambitious pan-India ‘Solo Cycle Expedition’ through various important Reserve Forests & National Parks of India in order to highlight the importance of Forest and Environment . This year, 2011 has been declared as ‘International year of Forest’ by United Nations and the expedition is aligned to the same. Ujjal, aged 37, is an Agriculture Graduate from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal. He is a mountaineer with the training of ‘Basic’ as well as ‘Advance’ Mountaineering Course and also has ‘Search & Rescue Course ’ to his credit. He has climbed the challenging peak of Chamserkangri (21720 ft.) in the Ladakh region. He has participated in Indo-Bangladesh Cycling Expedition earlier in this year in order to highlight the need of ‘Protection of Sunderbans’. He is a active member of RACE (Responsibility Associated With Clean Environment Society), the organization which is continuously working to make the planet green. Ujjal, with his team planted 1500+ saplings in his hometown with support from Divisional Forest Department. This expedition will be long and challenging one. It is expected to last for approximately 2 years to travel nearly 28000 kms and will cost in an excess of Rs 5 lakhs over the timeframe. However this will be successful only if it can create public sensitivity towards the cause of Forest and Environment . We hope you can provide logistical help and Sponsorship in his remarkable challenge. We wish all the best and look forward to your kind co-operation on his expedition.
