This presentation sets outs to trace the development of Videoconferencing as a tool to support distance learning in the New Zealand Schooling Sector (K1-12) It begins with a brief overview of the definition & development of distance learning; then traces the technology of videoconferencing from inception to present day. We then go on to look at the growth of videoconferencing and it’s role & contributions to distance learning in New Zealand schools. And conclude with a discussion of possible future directions.
