Roll Calling, related to modal verbs:

Before doing that, teacher briefly describes the 3 stages of
                                                This lesson :

Introduction: interactive modals verbs ppt presentation.
While stage : The modal verbs songs
Post stage: ESL games on modal verbs practising.

Intro-Warm up 20 min Teacher introduces an interactive 12 slide presentation
“Using Modals verbs: an about modal verbs. This presentation explains about the
Interactive presentation” the use of: Must, Must not, Can, Can not, May, May not.
It contains a brief definition of them ( what meaning they
Do convey) by using a L2 audio samples.
It will be useful to expose student to comprehensible L2
Input , if teachers ask to student to pay attention to the
                                               Audio samples.
After the explanations have been exposed, students are
Called to complete all together the 5 fill in exercises
Including in the presentation. Teacher also can take times
And ask for new vocabulary, expression and verb forms.

While -Stage: After having done the first activity, teacher suggests
Students to watch a musical video where different songs
have been mashed up, and on which the lyrics contains
“The modal verb songs” 30 min the use of modals verbs such as :
                                              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KcSEnVnQ98
Teacher explains that most of the modals verbs they have been working
On are included: May, May it be? , might, can, can’t, mustn’t, should.
Teacher can play the video once in order to make it comprehensible, however
The video contains also written L2 input, so student can relate the lyrics with
The written information included. At this stage , teacher can promotes sing
Along as well as asking and clarifying doubts about vocabulary
                        And idiomatic expressions.

Should I Depending on how much student have got along with this activity,
Stay or teacher can propose to work the modal verb Should by listening and analysing
Should I go? The song: Should I stay or Should l I go? This track contains plenty
(optional) L2 actual vocabulary which may be helpful to show them the way
                        The modal verb should works.

It is advisable to notice the mood of the audience, because of one of the
Greatest drawbacks of using songs is that they occasionally can
Saturate the environment and easily Distract students’ attention.

Post stage: In order to introduce the third stage, teacher asks students to work on
playing three on line games retrieved from :
“Review on 20 min http://www.kidseslgames.com/
On these games students can rehearse the uses of most of the modal verbs
Modals they have been work on: Can, Cant, Must, Must Not, May, Might etc.
Verbs” Before they start playing teacher provides the instruction how to play them.
Then he passes providing individual assistance about vocabulary and checking
                       Out scores.
Will be very engaging if teacher also plays the games along with students
In order to show students the procedure and clarify possible expressions
                      They may not understand.

Closing 10 min Teacher asks for question and anticipate next lesson topic.
