Philosophy: In the Middle Ages, two stone masons were working together and someone asked each of them
what they were doing. The first one said, “Obviously, I am building a wall” and the second one said “I am
building a cathedral”. This embodies our philosophy and inspires us to form the pillars on which our company is
built:

g. Modular refineries take advantage of state‐of‐the‐art process techniques to
automatically control the amount of each desired subproduct according to the needs of
the client.
h. Modular refineries can be sited to optimize the production of fuels that can be used in
diesel engines and gas turbines for distributed electrical power generation.
i. Modular refineries can be installed in a short time without welding to coincide with the

We can provide the following Modular Refining Process Units:
j. ATMOSPHERIC DISTILLATION UNIT (ADU) ‐ separates the different fractions of the crude
oil according to boiling range into naphtha, kerosene, diesel, and residuum products. it
operates at less than 15 psig.
k. VACUUM DISTILLATION UNIT (VDU) ‐ performs the same function as an ADU, but
operates at a pressure of less than zero psig. it produces products like marine fuel oil
(MDO) and asphalt from the ADU residuum (heavy fuel oil).
l. CATALYTIC REFORMER UNIT (CRU) ‐ produces high octane gasoline from naphtha.
m. HYDRODESULFURIZATION UNIT (HDS) ‐ removes sulfur and other impurities from
naphtha and distillate fuels.
n. HYDROCRACKER UNIT (HCU) ‐ produces naphtha, kerosene, and diesel from heavy
feedstocks like VDU distillates.
o. DESALTER ‐ removes salt from crude oil prior to distillation to prevent fouling and
corrosion.
p. SPLITTER/STABILIZER ‐ separates a feedstock into two products.
q. FLARE ‐ combusts any excess vapor released by process equipment.
• LPG ‐ Natural Gas separation plants: Complete Modular Gas Processing Components as follows:
a. FIELD COMPRESSION SYSTEM ‐ raises the gas pressure from the well heads to the
pressure required for gas transmission.
b. AMINE TREATER ‐ removes hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from the
gas stream. Amine gas treating, also known as gas sweetening and acid gas removal,
refers to a group of processes that use aqueous solutions of various amines.
c. GLYCOL DEHYDRATOR removes enough water to prevent freezing during transmission
or processing. Design pressures are available from 230 psig to 2,160 psig.
d. MOLE SIEVE DEHYDRATOR removes all of the water from a gas stream. This unit is used
when the gas is processed to very low temperatures (less than ‐40 F).
e. NATURAL GAS PROCESSING PLANT removes natural gas liquids (NGLs) from a gas
stream. The gas is cooled until the desired NGLs condense. The raw natural gas must be
purified to meet the quality standards specified by the major pipeline transmission and
distribution companies. These quality standards vary by pipeline and are usually a
function of the pipeline system design and the markets served.
f. NGL FRACTIONATOR recovers NGLs by distillation in demethanizing, deethanizing,
depropanizing, and debutanizing fractionation columns. Each fractionation column
removes a component from the NGL stream.
g. FLARE combusts any excess vapor released by process equipment.
h. CLAUS UNIT recovers elemental sulfur from H2S

Strategic Alliances:
KES has received important representation contracts and formed strategic alliances that allow it to
perform in the energy market as follows:
CHEMEX LLC, since 1974 has been dedicated to construct crude oil refineries and related equipment
and has achieved a presence in all continents except Latin America. KES is collaborating closely with
CHEMEX to expand its coverage in Latin America, as well as in the Caribbean and Africa. This allows
KES to expand its operations with a wide range of potential clients that require refined oil products.
CHEMEX refineries have many virtues, among them are their portability, modularity, fast production
and assembly, which normally take between 12 to 36 months to build and install, as opposed to the
5 to 7 years needed for traditional refinery construction. The CHEMEX refineries are air cooled so
they do not require water for cooling, making a minimal impact on the environment. The
capabilities of refining vary from 500 to 25,000 BPD compared to 300,000 to 1,000,000 BPD of the
traditional refining processes. In addition, CHEMEX and KES have developed line of Modular
Advanced Pyrolysis Systems (MAPS) for gasification of Municipal Solid Waste )MSW) with modules
with capacities of 125 and 250 Tons per Day which can be increased as the need grows in multiples
of 250 Tons per Day to 1,000 Tons per Day and beyond with a range of Syngas fueled generating
systems powered by gas or bi‐fuel combustion engines, steam turbines, gas turbines or fuel cells.

PRIME ENERGY & CHEMICAL LLC (PEC). Company dedicated to the production of a bio‐ degradable,
non‐toxic family of solvents to lower the viscosity of crude oil. Crude oil production has lived with
the growing problem of asphaltenes or paraffin, which exist in the crude oil. These normally clog
the oil pipes when oil is extracted and affect the productivity of exploitation wells. PEC has
patented a product that liquefies the asphaltenes or the paraffin, lowers viscosity and allows better
flow of the crude oil in oil wells and pipelines, compared to the existing solvents, which are highly
toxic. The product is being used successfully to reactivate old oil wells abandoned because of the
clogging of the oil pipes or the heaviness of the crude oil. KES has a Joint Venture with PEC to
promote the use of PEC’s products on a standalone basis or in conjunction with the oil refineries.
KES has direct access and excellent relationships with the following equipment manufacturers allowing
KES to offer Energy Generation equipment of diverse technologies. As with the solvents, KES may offer
equipment from these companies alone or in combination together with the refineries:
General Electric
CAT Solar Turbines
Rolls‐Royce Power Systems
STX Heavy Industries
MAN Diesel
Wartsila, Inc.
MTU Onsite Energy
KES has adopted a strategy involving associates in each country of the region, keeping the fixed costs
at a minimum and incorporating highly educated personnel with outstanding academic and
professional references, high standards and values, and complete knowledge of local markets. For that
purpose, as of today KES counts on Associates and Representatives in the following countries:
Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad, Curacao, Guyana, Surinam, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina,
Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Spain. KES is in the process of completing the regional coverage
by appointing personal in Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Central America and the Caribbean. In addition to
the above, KES counts on a support team in its headquarters in Miami to cover its technological,
marketing and administrative needs as well as technical support for the best quality proposals and
follow‐up on every projects.
KES has a winning strategy in hiring principled and competent personnel with a deep knowledge of its
products and services from Miami, Florida, an ideal location to serve the Latin American and Caribbean
Region.
