- 4. Eat More Greens
Green leafy veggies, or simply greens are commonly discussed when talking
about 'optimal health' and becoming 'healthy'. Health experts and even parents
can be heard telling us to 'eat more greens'.
We're 'Green' Deficient
The truth of the matter is... humans should have
much more greens in their daily diet than they
realize.
Additionally, they would most likely need to eat way
more salads than they likely want (or have the time
to eat) to consume the sufficient amount of greens
that are recommended by the natural health
experts.
Also, the green vegetables would have to be masticated down to virtually
nothing before swallowing to eventually be assimilated by our bodies.
If the healthful green veggies are not digested properly, you shouldn't
anticipate them to be assimilated. Assimilation makes reference to the
nutrients being brought into the bloodstream and used by our bodies.
Destroying Nutrients
Also, if the green veggies are cooked, the lion share of the vitamins and
enzymes (usually all of them) will be destroyed. Therefore.. eating green leafy
vegetables in the uncooked state is recommended by raw foodists and other
natural health advocates. But, uncooked greens aren't always so tasty.
But there is a solution. There is a simple method to get plenty of raw green
veggies in your daily diet and have them taste very good. Also, this solution
allows the body to assimilate the green veggies properly...
..We will get into that, but first, let me answer the question... which green
veggies are best to add to the diet to contribute to being healthy?

- 5. Healthiest Greens
Which greens are healthiest?
The short response is.. each and every one! (besides of course the poisonous
ones)
But, there will be some that will have greater nutrient worth than others, all
varieties of kale being one of the most nutritionally dense (which equates to a
very healthful green).
The caveat... we cannot eat the exact green each and every day for several
weeks in a row. For reasons beyond the scope of this document, we need to
change it up sometimes. Learn more about toxins in greens here.
Green Smoothies To The Rescue
Now the response to how to eat the raw greens, have the greens taste good,
pre-digest them for easy assimilation, and consume enough of them?
Mix the green vegetables in green smoothies (fruit smoothies with green
veggies mixed in) to get more into the daily diet. Additionally, chopping them
in a blender will get them to a pre-digested state, allowing them to be more
quickly assimilated.
Use all green vegetables, preferably insecticide free and locally grown if
available. Use beet tops, carrot tops, fresh parsley, dill, cilantro (my absolute
favorite besides kale), romaine lettuce, spinach as well as others, provided
they are green and leafy!
In case you are wondering... putting more than just one green in a smoothie
will not pose a problem. Now go ahead and assimilate some green veggies and
get healthy!
Like with any other dietary change, please check with your doctor before making any drastic
changes to your diet.
