SHCC 2:2   Knock-out 2 Teams 2 Players 2 Overs Rule Book
What is SHCC 2:2? SHCC 2:2 cricket is the new fast-paced game of cricket that can be played by 4 people in 15 minutes! It’s what your summer was made for. The game format is simple: 2 teams of 2 players, 2 overs per side. The competition takes place at Middle Lane  on Sunday August 29 th . The matches will be played in a knockout competition with the finals played in the last hour of Sunday evenings play, around 7-8pm. Just grab a mate and bring your batting eye and bowling arm down to SHCC’s Middle Lane Ground.  Don’t worry: SHCC players are not allowed to pair up.
Batting & Bowling Rules Each batsmen must face 3 legitimate consecutive deliveries per over, and the batsmen then swap ends. Each player must bowl one over (before swapping with their team mate). Run up-  no more than 3 paces before the popping crease. Batsmen are out if they are bowled, caught or stumped. For every ‘out’ 3 runs will be deducted from the batting teams overall score. Wickets HOWZAT! GIVE IT SOME WELLY! 2 5 1 2 Runs WKTS OVERs . . . .
Penalty Rules Wide   – down the leg side or too wide on the off side – the batting team will be awarded 1 extra run and an extra ball. No balls  – over waist height on the full or overstepping the popping crease: - Over waist height: the batting team will be awarded 1 extra run and 1 extra ball. To keep things on an even playing field, no two current South Holderness playing members can be on the same team. Sorry guys you’ll have to phone a friend! - Overstepping popping crease: the batting team will be awarded 1 extra run, 1 extra ball and a  free hit. HIT YOUR WICKETS! MOOSE IT! Free hit  – the batsmen cannot get out on a free hit unless he/she is stumped or run out.
Scoring Format The field is divided into an inner and outer zone with 4 scoring areas. If the bowler or wicket keeper gathers the ball before it leaves the inner zone, no run is given. If the ball leaves the inner zone and fails to reach the boundary, runs will be awarded as follows: Area A (Behind) =  1 run Area B & C (Sides) =  2 runs Area D (Straight) =  3 runs If the ball reaches the boundary having touched the ground =  4 runs If the ball reaches the boundary without having touched the ground =  6 runs Area B 2 runs Area C 2 runs Area A 1 run Area D 3 runs Outer zone Inner zone Sweet spot START THE CAR! BRING ON THE PIES!
The Sweet Spot The batting team will be awarded double runs if the ball hits the Sweet Spot target. (4 of them situated on the boundary marking out the areas) Winning The team with the most runs wins. If the game is tied after the allotted 2 overs per side, each team will face a further 6 balls (3 per batsman & bowler). Entry & Prizes The cost of entry is  £10 per team  (£5 each). Half of the total entry will go to help build a new pavilion and support our young cricketers.  The other half will be shared between the finalists as follows: 50% to the winners 30% losing finalists 10% each to the losing semi-finalists HE’S GOT AN ITCHY TRIGGER FINGER!
