3. 1.History
• The history of Halloween has evolved and changed through history.
• 1st November was New Year's Day. The people believe that the
night before (31st October) was a time when the living and the
dead came together.
• More than thousand years ago the Christrian church named 1st
November All Saints Day .This was a special holy day to honour the
saints and other people who died for the religions. The night before
All Hallows was called Hallows Eve. Later the name was changed to
Halloween.
• In America , pumpkins were common. So people began putting
candles inside them and using them as lanterns. That is why you see
Jack 'o lanterns today.
4. 2.How we celebrate it now?
• Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of
October 31.
• Traditional activities include trick-or-treating, bonfires,
costume parties, visiting “haunted houses” and carving
jack-o-lanterns.
• Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival
known as Samhain.
• Trick-or-treating, is an activity for children on
Halloween in which they go from house to house with
costumes, asking for sweets, asking “Trick or treat?”.
Trick-or-treating is one of the main traditions of
Halloween.
5. 3.Where is Halloween celebrated?
• The activity is popular in the United States, the United Kingdom,
Ireland, Canada, and it has increased to children in many parts of
Europe.
8. • Steps
1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC and line a cupcake tin
with 12 cupcakes cases
2. Put the cupcakes mix in a bowl. Add the milk,
eggs, the butter and mix everything 2min. Place
them in the oven for about 20 min. Remove
them from the oven and leave to cool.
3. To make the chocolate buttercream, beat the
butter and icing sugar. Then, add the chocolate
extract and beat again.
4. Finally, put the fondant at the top of the
cupcake.

• Soul cakes were traditionally given to visitors of
your household.
• Vegetable Lanterns were placed in the windows
of homes to welcome ghosts.
• Boxty Pancakes are rich, creamy potato pancakes
that are eaten on a regular basis in Ireland today,
but started out as a traditional Halloween food.
• Colcannon and Baranbrack is a traditionally dish
concerning the unmarried women.
