Describe Yourself As A Writer
1. Why Is Writing Important To Me
While growing up, I loved learning how to read and write. At approximately age four, my
grandmother began teaching me the basics of reading and how to write the alphabet. The hours
spent working with my grandmother influenced the love I have for literature. Although I have a
passion for reading and writing, I feel this passion slowly fading with age. As I get older, I realize
that reading does not seem as enjoyable as it used to be for me. Reading and writing has
influenced my life in a thankful, a joyful, but also a slightly negative way. Certainly, I will always
have joy in my heart for literacy. Reading is sentimental for me. I can think back to the countless
hours sitting with my grandmother learning how to sound out letters and place them together to
form words. Almost every week, she would bring me a new book to read. We would read the entire
book so many times that I practically had each page memorized. My favorite set of books she
brought me home was "Junie B. Jones" by Barbara Park. During my second grade year, I had read
every book in the collection,...show more content...
I take for granted the opportunities that are available to me through literacy each day. I feel pity
for those who do not appreciate the importance of literacy. I am very thankful that my family
taught me the importance of reading and writing at a very young age. It never occurred to me
how important the ability to read and write is. Reading is an integral part of everyday life, and
writing is an important part of communication. I never understood the importance of knowing
how to recognize and write my own name until I realized that my grandfather did not know how
to spell his own name. It saddens me that many people in this world do not know how to read and
write. I am grateful that I am being raised in a time that the importance of literacy is stressed, and
that I have the privilege to be knowledgeable in all aspects of

2. My Future Essay
My future is something I often think about. Most often, the questions that arise include the
common doubts of "Am I doing this right?", or even the occasional midnight philosophical
questions such as "Why are we here?", and so on. For the purpose of this essay, I will focus on the
factors that have allowed me to reach this point in my life and how these factors influenced and
continue to influence me, in order to provide me with a visualization of my future.
Factors that contributed to my current life choices include the desperate want to be something
greater, as well as to experience the world in ways some could only dream of. I study hard,
allowing for me to have the possibility of an early graduation. I dream big, allowing me with the
imagination to draw up plans for myself and my future. I work hard, allowing me the strength and
vision to execute my plans for the future. The way that I was raised has greatly benefited me. My
parents have taught me that anything and everything is possible as long as you work hard for it
despite the what others may tell you or even if the odds are against you. Another factor that led to
my current life, is the amount of time I allow myself to think about my plans and refine them. This is
extremely important because, without a solid, flexible, long–term plan, you could get lost in
dreaming about the future, and end up not accomplishing anything. Hence, many aspects of my life
have been planned out with not one or two possible alternatives

3. What Is Writing Like Me
Writing. Writing is a no. I do not like writing. It does not like me. I have very little good
experiences with it. Maybe even none. The only good writing I can do is outside of school. When
I attempt it in school, I forget words, how to spell them, and how to phrase them. Its like being in
Kindergarten again. I have no motivation to start if I can even find an idea. Me and writing are like
Zordon and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Thinking about it there's probably a better
analogy out there like, I don't know, Batman and Joker if you wanna be boring. Or I could bring up
something insensitive 'cause bringing up my writing can lead to great offense. Don't talk about it. If
I wanted to bring up any experience I've had with writing, they would

Wayne Gretzky Not many people can argue that Wayne Gretzky dominated the game every time
he stepped on the ice. No player is rewarded the name, "The Great One", for no reason, and he has
proven that since his first year in the NHL. Wayne Gretzky is by far, the greatest Canadian hockey
player of all time. He holds the record for the most goals, assists, and overall points for both the
regular season and the playoffs; he has won over 20 trophies throughout his career, and within his

the National Hockey League that millions of people could only wish of possessing. He has won
several different awards many times over, including ten Art Ross trophies, nine Hart trophies, two
Conn Smythe, and five Lady Byng trophies. Each trophy has its own trait, or a quality that must
be possessed by the player in order to win them, and Gretzky has definitely proved himself
winning each one of these over and over again. Two of the NHL's most prized trophies, the Art
Ross trophy for the leagues leading scorer, and the Hart trophy given to the leagues MVP, had
been won by Gretzky an astonishing eight years in a row, starting from just his second year of
playing in the league. Along with these awards, Waynehas been presented with several Lester B.
Pearson awards for Outstanding Player and a Lester Patrick trophy in 1994 for Outstanding Service

5. The Writing Process
The very first essay assignment I had taught me an important lesson. It is hard for me to write
ideas down for essays. It is difficult to get my thoughts together to make a sentence. High school
essay assignments require a lot of paragraphs. The writing process makes me feel very stressed. I get
frustrated trying to think of ideas. Sometimes, I can not think of any ideas to write about. Some
essays give me a topic that i do not understand and it makes me confused. I freak out inside,
wondering if I will ever get the work done. Finally, I think of a really good sentence but the second I
am going to write it down, I completely forget what I was going to write. I worry I will fail and get
a bad grade. I wonder if I could do a better job on

6. Essay on Writing Experience
My Writing Experiences My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the
basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things
like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the
future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers,
documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I
predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college. Writing in the past started in
kindergarten. My teacher taught me how to write my name over and over until I could write it with
no errors. All through elementary my teachers taught me...show more content...
I need to learn to quit thinking as much on what I want to write about and how to write about a topic
and just starting jotting stuff down in outline form as it comes to mind. Run–ons and fragments I
need to be able to spot and fix right away or I really need to not have any in my papers at all. My
goals are to write papers and not have to reassure myself that maybe I need to do more research or
have more data or even have to rethink my whole topic over. I would love to have the knowledge
to be a tutor someday and teach other people how to properly write papers, paragraphs, essays,
and maybe even books. To have excellent skills in writing will definitely be a great advantage in
my nursing profession. In nursing, I will have to do lots of charting on my patients. I will have to
do health presentations on various subjects such as exercising, how our society eats, and sex
education if I want to be a course instructor. Researching information on all of those topics I will
have to make sure I do an excellent job on and collect accurate information and statistics so that I
can compare to other sources. Dictating to the doctor means that I will need to write properly so
that he understands what I am saying. Other nurses will have to be able to understand what I am

7. How To Write An Essay On Me Before You
Have you ever wondered how an author can pick a few words to get people interested in their
book? Me before You is the title of the book by Jojo Moyes. It is about a man Will who gets hit by
a motorbike and becomes a quadriplegic. That means he is paralyzed from the collarbone down,
yet he can raise his hands enough to control his wheelchair. Lou becomes his caretaker and after
she finds out that Will has planned in six months to take his life she does not know if she can be a
part of that. So she plans to fill these last months to the brink in trying to get him to change his
mind. Louisa was probably the only person other Nathan his nurse to make him laugh and smile. In
the end, Louisa hopes that Will will change his mind as for how much growing...show more content...
At the beginning, Miss Clark took the job only because it pays very well and the only other
person that was providing for the large family was her father. She had no idea what she was doing
taking care of a quadriplegic and Will was not very happy to have yet another caregiver. At the
very beginning, Will was tacit and when he did speak he was very judgemental and acrid. After a
while, she stood up to his crabbiness and moodiness and he back off. She learned very quickly
from Will that you can only help someone who wants to be helped and after his progression in
attitude he told her "Live boldly. Push yourself. Don't settle" (Moyes, 368). They finally got used
to each other and had a routine that was naturally to each other. That even when people saw them
like Louisa's family and Patrick they were surprised by how close and comfortable they got to
each other. Louisa would finally get Will to go places on his good days and places that he might
enjoy, but some would be a fail and he would then get all clammed up and insist on going home.
They would often talk about books or films that Will would assign Lou. He looked forward to
seeing what she thought about these books that he enjoyed himself. Will had made it his mission to
widen Lou's horizons and introduce her to new things. Their relationship had a lot of twists and
turns but they both learned from the

8. How To Write Me
I learned how to write when I was six years old. I was a very smart, curies and happy child. Being
very interesting in new things made me practice writing and reading over and over again.
First, I started learning how to write a letter. Later on I learned that letters became words and the
words became sentences .Also, reading a book taught me how to write was a way of expressing my
feelings. Even if the life experience of a six years old child does not have a lot of things to write
about, the adventures of everyday life inspired me to write my first page in my life.

9. Personal Narrative: My Essay For Me
My essay for assignment 5 was the most memorable essay for me to write. When I first looked at
this assignment, I was nervous about writing a letter from my grandfather to myself. I did not
know what he would say to me since I didn't talk to him much during his last days. Instead of
writing out a whole letter, I decided to just write parts of a letter and analyze each part as I wrote.
I felt that this was a better strategy for me because it allowed me to compare my feelings to those
that I thought my grandfather would feel. The letter from my grandfather discussed the reasons why
he felt he had to hide his leukemia from me. My grandfather talked about wanting to remain strong
for the family; he did not want the rest of the family to...show more content...
At the end of my essay, Jeff informed me that this essay was the best essay I had written in this
class. He called it a masterpiece. I started tearing up in class on Monday when I read these words. I
had never viewed myself as a good writer when writing about personal topics. For Jeff to say such
nice things about my grandfather proved to me that I am capable of self–disclosure. The comments
affected me tremendously; Jeff's assurances of my writing in my essay are what motivated me to
write this assignment. Originally I was going to keep this essay a secret from my parents, but I
eventually told my father about this essay. He cried when I read it to him. My paternal
grandfather was the one who had died, and his death was extremely hard on my father. My father
told me that he was haunted by questions similar to my own. My father feels lost without my
grandfather. I cannot imagine what it must be like to lose a parent, even though death is
inevitable. When my father heard my essay, he told me that he felt comforted by the fact that I
expressed deep love and support for my grandfather. He assured me that my grandfather wanted
me to remember him as healthy. Writing this essay has brought me closer to understanding not
only myself, but also my relationship with my father. I understand what it takes to be strong
when life is tough. I understand that it is okay to feel anger and guilt when a loved one dies. I
understand that a family can act as a support system, but it is also okay to grieve alone. I used to
want to be left alone right after my grandfather died. I needed space to think and cry. This essay
acted as my gateway to breaking down the walls I had constructed and allowing my family back
in. This essay allowed me to share my emotions with my father, and in doing so, I was able to help
both him and myself

These days, there have been a number of hotels in various cities, towns and countries. From when
I was young to now, I have visited many inns since I loved to travel to somewhere. I had any
feeling and impression about hotels where I have been before I became eighteen years old. Hotels
were just hotels that I needed to stay for the night. No more than that I thought. Before I went to
Canada to study English in 2011, my family had a plan to travel somewhere and stay in a hotel for
my farewell in Korea. After we visited many attractions, we were heading to the hotel that we
made a reservation. When I saw the entrance of the hotel, I was surprised at first, and when we went
inside of the hotel, I was surprised again. For two days, I was very impressed and I thought a lot in
positive ways. I always had a desire to visit again and I wanted to get a hotel like that inn. It was the
first time for me to know what I want to become. The trip to the hotel was totally changed my life
and my dream.
When we arrived at the hotel, a man, who looked a staff, did valet parking service for us, and we
moved to the desk to get a card key. We certainly checked in and we followed the guide of one of the
employees. He let my family get in a cart, and he guided us to our room where we reserved before
we came here. While going there, small waterfall and many various flowerpots welcomed us. I
could see that our room was being close to us, which was designed as a modern building. When we

12. Personal Essay: What Motivates You?
What motivates you? In a small part, every aspect of my life motivates me to strive for my
dreams. My family; parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews and nieces motivate me and push
me harder to achieve my goals and aspirations. Me being the first in my family to graduate high
school, and enter into college is a tremendous amount of pressure. I want to be able to prove to
them that they can reach their dreams no matter how old or young, if they are determined.
Mainly, I want to show them that everything is obtainable if you work for it. My boyfriend
motivates me to be the best verision of myself that I can be, we both chose to go to SFA together,
after I stated I wasn't interested in going to college. He motivates me to be better, faster, stronger
and more determined. He teaches me to set high goals and reach them. Lastly, my coworkers
motivate me to continue to improve my already strong work ethic. As their manager, they depend
on me to teach them how to succeed in our work environment. Having people look up to me
motivates me to no end. I love to set examples and be a leader to show people anything is
possible. Using the table on page 237, name 3 personality characteristics you possess and explain

14. Write An Essay About Writing To Me
I believe that writing is not only something that I am taught in school by structure, but also
something that can be done freely. In my eighteen years, I have found that writing can be an out for
me to express my feelings when words cannot always be spoken. For me, writing can be the only
way to communicate the way I feel about certain things. Sitting down, putting pen to paper, and
letting any thought or idea I have hiding out in my mind come to light is a feeling I cannot gain
from anything else. I enjoy the way thoughts and phrases build upon each other to become greater
ideas. For instance, once when me and my girlfriend were in an argument I found that writing helped
our situation the most. We had argued for days and were not getting...show more content...
My classmates and I were asked to write a persuasive essay convincing our audience to do or
believe something. We had just completed the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.)
program so my first idea was to write about something pertaining to that. I chose to write a letter
to my mom in hopes of persuading her to stop smoking. I had already tried telling my mom she
should not smoke, and express my feelings of negativity towards her habit; nothing seemed to
work. I sat down one evening began writing, and it took me days to get all of my thoughts onto
paper the way that I wanted them. I edited and revised until I had the letter as perfect as I could
get it. I presented the letter to my mother, she was in tears before she made it through the first
paragraph. By the end of the letter she had agreed to quit smoking. Nine years later and my mother
is still smoke free. I accredit all of this to writing and the way that it helps me express my feelings
and to get my point across.
I do not believe writing exclusively passes on information or explains things. Writing is much
deeper and emotional than that. I believe writing is unlike anything else in the way it can help one
to express themselves and portray my feelings to another person. Writing is the only thing in my
life that allows me to channel all of my thoughts and ideas into one place. I believe there is not a
single thing in the world can compare or compete with

15. My Experience In English Writing
English is a core concept in the Untied States and other countries that has allowed inviduals to
advance their knowledge. Not only does English provide an advancement in knowlege, but has
created a way for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings through writing. Which is why
English is one of the four subjects that is required to be taught in almost every school district in
America including mine. I began taking English from a young age which allowed me to take
advanced placement English IV my senior year at Tupelo High School. Advanced Placement English
IV allowed me to further my education in writing, which in return allowed me to overcome
obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any other thing in life there
are always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was
something that was very challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to
organize all of my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in my English class
was a journal entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write
about the experience I had while hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had
many different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my thoughts, so that it
flowed correctly. Since I was telling a story within my journal I realized that I was jumping around
more then I should have and this became a problem. I learned

16. Why Is Writing Important To Me Essay
To me, Writing has always been a great way to express my ideas, and remember past events. I like
all types of writing. Some of my favorites include narratives, and persuasive writing. I enjoy writing
narratives because they give me a freedom to voice my ideas in words, and allowing me to be
creative. I also like persuasive writing because the writing just seems fun to me, and I also like
persuading people. The most difficult type of writing would have to be narrative writing. Even
though it is one of my favorites, it is still very challenging. Narrative writing requires you to create
a story and make sure it all fits. When it is fictional, you must use a lot of creativity, and when it is
non–fiction, you must be able to research the facts to

Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic

supportive and persuasive that I looked forward to having the gained accountability. My father
instituted honesty and respect as monuments for responsibility. I of course struggled at times
with taking care of my dog, and handling some of my other chores. But my father always wanted
me to not only be honest with my parents, but also with myself. He stated that a lie would not
benefit anybody and it was disrespectful to tell a lie. He would tell me that a liar was the same as
a cheater, and nobody liked either. If I knew how to respect others and be honest, than my
responsibility would only increase. I asked why I would want added responsibility and my father
told me two things that changed my perspective completely. First, it was that responsible people

When I was young, I always knew that college is important to the major that you choose. When I
see my aunt, I ask many questions about college and how it is like. I thought it would be
challenging and stressful. Then it was stressful because I want to improve my writing. When I see
myself as a writer, I think about the process, then I consider the improvements I need to make, and
lastly the strengths I have.
First, I think about the writing process. When the teacher or professor give me an essay, I start right
away. I start right away because I don't want my work to be late and I have other assignment to do
for other classes. Once I read the prompt, I start my outline to know what to write in my essay. I just
think about what I know and don't know, then put it onto paper. For the outline, I will do sentences
or sometimes words only. It depends on the topic or essay I write. I find the outline is a helpful way
to get started.

is helpful. It is helpful because I take examples of how to start. I use google and look at images of
