Resetting the hp laser jet printers
1. Resetting the HP LaserJet printers
Reset the printer (cold reset) to return printer to initial factory setting.
Reset NVRAM to restore the number of printed pages to zero.
Change settings from a service mode.
Reset HP LaserJet 4000, 4100, 5Si, 8000 and similar models
Turn the printer off and then hit the “GO ONLINE” while powering the printer.
Reset HP LaserJet 2300, 2400, 4200, 4250, 4350, 4300 and similar models
Turn the printer off and then turn it on. When the printer is started, while counting the
memory, hold down the “CHECKMARK” button until the main LEDs are not shone. Let go
“CHECKMARK” button, with arrow keys (up and down) select "Cold Reset" option and then
press the “CHECKMARK” button again.
HP LaserJet 1100, 1200
While the printer is turned on hold the “GO” button for 5 seconds.
To reset NVRAM, turn off the printer and hold down the “GO” button for 20 seconds while
powering the printer.
HP LaserJet 2100
Turn the printer off and hold the “JOB CANCEL” button while powering the printer until all
LEDs are not shone. Keep “JOB CANCEL” button pressed within 20 seconds to cold reset the
printer, or longer to reset the NVRAM.
HP LaserJet 2200
Turn the printer off and hold the “GO” key until the “ATTENTION” light starts to flash. Printer
indicator lights will begin to flash until the process of resetting is completed.
To reset NVRAM turn off printer and hold down the “GO” button until “ATTENTION”, “READY”
and “GO” lights start to flash. Printer indicator lights will flash until the process of resetting the
NVRAM is completed.
HP LaserJet 5P, 6P
Turn the printer off and hold the reset button (nearest to the rear of the printer) less than 20
seconds while powering the printer.
To reset NVRAM turn off the printer and hold down the reset button over 20 seconds while
powering the printer.
