This powerpoint contains general information for public awareness on scope of SBEBA in Type 2 Diabetes mellitus . The author along with Dr. Rajkumar are the pioneers of Science Based Evidence Based Ayurveda , a novel methodology for Evidence Based Practice in Ayurveda emerged in 2012. Currently hundreds of patients of Type 2 Diabetes are out of drugs/ med and Insulin by this methodology with their HbA1c maintained below 6 .

2. SBEBA
• Science Based Evidence Based Ayurveda (SBEBA) is
scientifically cultured and updated Ayurveda.
• SBEBA incorporates inbuilt Science led evidence
based strategies for diagnosis and management of
diseases for first time in the history of Ayurveda.
• Myself and Dr. Rajkumar MD, PhD are the pioneers
of SBEBA innovation in Ayurveda which emerged in
2012 after more than a decade of basic and applied
research done in innumerable patients .
• Ayurveda is Science Based Medicine and not
Medicine based Science or Herbal Tradition .

3. Diabetes not born in a day
• Diabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by
complex alterations in glucose, protein and lipid
metabolism.
• Metabolic error is sustained for years before
becoming clinically apparent.
• Beta cell dysfunction might be there for years before
hyperglycemia manifest.
• Type 2 Diabetes is largely a man made disease
owing to altered metabolism in cells caused largely
by insulin resistance (cells unable to use-up glucose
and starch) and often by insulin functional deficit
(owing to beta cell dysfunction)

4. Insulin resistance
• Poor metabolism in cells, decreased efficiency of
liver by disease or certain medications or sustained
inflammation in cells could be the initiator of Insulin
resistance.
• The cells of muscles and fat tissues are poorly
sensitised to insulin and thus unable to assimilate
glucose and perform other anabolic functions.
• Insulin resistance is compensated by hyper-
insulinaemia along with hyperglycemia.
• Chronic hyperglycemia causes further suppression
of beta cell function and worsens insulin resistance

5. SBEBA curative goals
• Stimulation of metabolism in cells.
• Make the insulin targets active and efficient in
improving insulin sensitivity and thus facilitate
uptake and metabolism.
• Improving hepatic responsiveness and reversing fat
induced metabolic stress by improving the efficiency

PHASE 1 (7-14 days)

practitioner ) and boiled medicated water at every other time and waiting

 Heavy eating, over eating, frequent eating and eating a mixed /
unscientific diet suppress natural appetite and metabolism.
 Recommended exercise includes jogging, stair climbing and / or playing
badminton for 30 minutes, morning and evening empty stomach

• Science Based Evidence Based Ayurveda has curative
strategies for T2DM
• SBEBA has highly specific and specialised techniques to
detect the exact cause mechanisms specific to each subject
behind hyperglycemia and reverse the same , Hence SBEBA
is not cook book medicine .
