   Semi-established and operational in Uganda, Malawi and
    Mozambique

What is ReSAKSS?  Platform for peer review, ReSAKSS-AW node at IFPRI, DC: benchmarking, mutual coordinates 3 Africa-based regional nodes learning, and policy dialogue on agricultural and rural development strategies in Africa ReSAKSS-WA at IITA, Ibadan: works  Created and launched in 2006 with ECOWAS to provide credible information, analysis, and ReSAKSS-ECA at knowledge products for ILRI, Nairobi: works implementation CAADP with COMESA  Charged with taking lead in ReSAKSS-SA node at developing and implementing IWMI, Pretoria, CAADP M&E framework works with SADC
  • 4. CAADP M&E  CAADP M&E framework validated in February 2010  2010 M&E report » Continental report: completed and will be presented at CAADP PP » Separate regional and selected country reports underway  Database, analysis and graphics downloadable at www.resakss.org

Support to CAADP Roundtables  10 countries signed compacts: ReSAKSS and IFPRI involved with various aspects » Participated in meetings » Reviewed stocktaking reports » Undertook growth and investment analysis » Prepared brochures and briefs  18 countries had their investment plans reviewed » ReSAKSS and IFPRI part of review team » Specifically, review consistency of investment plan with long- term growth and poverty reduction options

Support to establishment of Country SAKSS  Drafted guidelines for the establishment and architecture of a CAADP Country Team including the national SAKSS node discussed with ECOWAS and some countries (to be discussed later)  Rwanda SAKSS node established and staffed with a coordinator  SAKSS node launched in Nigeria  Semi-established and operational in Uganda, Malawi and Mozambique  Advanced stage in Ghana, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo and Zambia

  • 14. 2011 Work Plan (I)  M&E leading to Annual Trends and Outlook Reports (ATOR): continental, regional and selected countries  Feature topic on agricultural productivity: options for raising and maintaining high agricultural productivity. Objectives: » to better understand the usefulness of different measures of agricultural productivity in monitoring and evaluation » to assess why there has not been widespread technical change in Africa » to review any lessons associated with the efficiency gains in agricultural production achieved in different parts of Africa » to identify specific agricultural investment programs whose implementation can be scaled up or undertaken in different parts of Africa in order to raise agricultural productivity
