Contemporary Performance?
The term Contemporary Performance is used to describe:
hybrid performance works and artists that travel between the fields of
Experimental Theatre & Dance, Video Art, Visual Art, Music Composition
and Performance Art without adhering to one specific field’s practice.

Other forms of practice might be described as:
Live Art- Site-specific/site based performance – Acktions -Body Art Performance Writing - Devised Theatre - Digital/mediated/multimedia
Performance/Net Art - Walking Practice - Feminist performance – Oneto-One - Environmental Performance - Political/Activist performance Sound Art - Durational Performance - Street Art – Script Based - Score
based work – contemporary dance/movement – Physical Theatre –

Why is it a Forum?
• Forum - a meeting or medium where ideas
and views on a particular issue can be
exchanged.
• a place of assembly for the people.
• an assembly, meeting place for
the discussion of questions of ’public’ interest.
What the forum offers
• Provide a monthly meeting ground for solo artists
to engage in a creative process with activities &
events to steer artists towards realising projects
• A space to share Skills, Knowledge & Ideas
between practitioners
• Develop partnerships in support of solo
practitioners and solo work in Bristol
• Offer a web space for exchange, documentation
and professional development
• A solo performance platform (Bristol & Falmouth)
