Aim: Create a GPS learning module
• Week long course
• Maybe 12-13 year olds
Thinking Behind This
• Lots of modules appearing on the web
• Think Khan Academy

• Think the module we will design
What this Opens Up
•   Learning for life
•   Individual learning
•   An end to curricula
•   But …
Raises a few questions
•   What about the teachers
•   More towards mentoring
•   Learning towards apprenticeships
•   Learning towards volunteering
•   And what of the universities
So if we are learning modules
• How do we assess?
• Open Badges
• What’s needed to get the badge?
• C.f. Martial Arts
• Create learning pathways – if you liked this,

• No capacity but wants to recruit
• Look for a badge match – GPS, games, Flash

  lat/long – what do these look like
• Calculations=Haversine

Assessing the Work
