scientific communication has become crucial to make you a successful in scientific community. Become aware of various modes available to communicate the scientific knowledge and add this skill to your career, see the change!!!
2.
Science communication, being a complex network of
social channels, serves as a mechanism for bridging
the gap between the scientific community and the
lay public.
What is science ? Definition that some describe as
pure science: “Science is the systematic enterprise of
gathering knowledge about the world and
organising and condensing that knowledge into
testable laws and theories” (Burns, O’Connor and
Stocklmayer, 2003).

3. “Communication (together with its twin ‘information) is
perhaps one of the most loosely defined in contemporary
media and cultural studies.
It is because the term encompasses a multitude of
experiences, actions and events, as well as a whole variety
of happenings and meanings, and technologies (Kumar,
2010: 1).
Dr. McFarland defined communication as a process of
meaningful interactions by which meanings are perceived,
and understandings are reached among human beings
(Mishra and Singha, 2008:5).

Communication and information are not similar concepts.
Conceptually, ‘communication’ is not a mere process of sending
or receiving in information in whatever form. Rather it is a
whole situations and experience; a human relationship, in sum.
Whereas, information is an abstract entity, has no separate
existence on its own. It is made of bits of messages, which
include both verbal and non-verbal forms.
In its technical sense, information is a sequence of symbols that
could be decoded or interpreted as a message. It can be
recorded as signs, or transmitted as signals.

Only appropriate choosing of format of data communication would decide the
appropriate understanding to public

A multi-prolonged strategy is required to make
science communication more effective and to
address obstacles associated with it.
Scientists should be trained in the art of science
communication while journalists must be oriented
towards at least the basic understanding of sciences
and its methodology.
More platforms should be created to engage
scientists and media practitioners to have close
dialogues on issues pertaining to scientific
developments.

Science communication plays very vital role in our
society.
Societal developments are some extent depends on
scientific journals, where first hand research result
on science and technology are being published.
Science communicators use scientific journals and its
articles for dissemination scientific information
among the academic community for research and
development purpose.

Public Awareness of Science are terms related to the
attitudes, behaviours, opinions and
activities that comprise the relation between the general
public or lay society as whole to
scientific knowledge and organisation
Importance of scientific communication
Scientific Literacy (SL) 1. Practical
scientific literacy, is scientific
knowledge that can be applied to help
solve practical problems. (Maienschein
et al. called this science literacy.)
2. Civic scientific literacy enables a citizen
“. . . to become more aware of science and
science-related issues so that he and his
representatives would not shy away from
bringing their common sense to bear upon
such issues and thus participate more fully
in the democratic processes of an
increasingly technological society.”
3. Cultural scientific literacy, is an
appreciation of science as a major human
achievement,“. . . arguably the greatest
achievement of our culture
Validation of scientific information
By the authorities
Present scenario is explosion of scientific info
But trust only after authencity is checked
