1. TECHNICAL/COMPETITION DESCRIPTION (TD)
This competition is designed to test specialist users of software applications.
The skill involves the ability to:
o Undertake document processing
o Prepare and use a personal relational database
o Create and use spreadsheets
o From a given design create and use spreadsheets
o Produce and amend graphics and drawings
o Create and edit application macros and make use of software customization
facilities (the competitor should be able to choose the method of
creation/editing - no question should be of the level that could only be
resolved using programming tools e.g. VBA)
o Create slide show presentations
o Access, store and use files on a local area network
o Organizing location of files and maintaining links between them
o Access different printers on a network
o Understand and use basic processes in a business-commercial environment
o Manipulate, present and communicate information in a business/commercial
environment
o Prepare electronic files for viewing on the internet
o Access and retrieve data from a restricted on site intranet
o Exporting of documents to other forms, such as, pdf, text, csv files, or html
documents to be viewed in a browser.
Generally, those skills are divided into four major groups of skill test:

2. DETAIL COMPETITION MATERIAL
Detail material of each group will be explained in this section.
2.1Database Case Materials

o Creating and Editing Database
o Creating and Editing Tables
o Changing Table Design
o Import Data from others type of file (txt, xls, html, etc.)
o Lookup Data
o Customizing Field Properties (Format , Input Mask , Validation, look
up etc)

o Creating Query (from more than one tables, adding new field,
formatting fields in query, aggregation) and naming
o Creating insert, update, and delete query
o Using operators
o Using functions
o Using formulas
Form
o Creating Single Form and naming
o Creating Sub Form, including displaying different data/view in
different tabs.
o Creating form to view, entry, and querying data
o Formatting form
o Using Control Tool Box(checkbox, combo box, list box, image, etc.)
o Using submit button and its combination (next, previous, print, close,
save, delete, close, print, etc.), modifying navigation setting,
o Modifying existing form
o Able to display data from combination of more than one field
Report
o Creating Report from one or more table(s) resource and naming
o Inserting pictures in report
o Report’s formatting, header, footer, page break, and subtotal etc.
o Able to perform reports in letter formats (mail merge)
Switchboard
o Creating Switchboard manager and naming
o Able to open form or reports
o Switchboard’s formatting, Inserting picture into switchboard, etc.

4. MARKING GUIDELINE
o Marking will be done after each module finished
o Competitor that is capable to finish current module before submission time
is not permitted to start doing the next module.
o Competitors are not allowed to revise the submitted module after the
submission time.
o Competitors are not allowed to bring any electronic and printed material to
competition area.
o All marking is designed into objective category.
o Jury is checking based on given check list. One checklist may contain more
than one marking components. Missing or incorrect result on one of those
components will be assumed as wrong answer.
o Marking Percentage :
o Database : 25%
o Spreadsheet : 25%
o Presentation : 25%
o Document Processing : 25%
5. FACILITIES
5.1 Hardware
The following machines and equipment will be made available to each
competitor:
o Computer for each competitor:
o Motherboard core i3 + Driver, Min 2 GHz
o LAN Card, VGA Card min 512 MB
o Network capabilities of 100Mbps
o Keyboard, Mouse USB
o Hard disk min 80 GB 7200 RPM
o Memory minimal 4 GB
o Speaker, Microphone
o Monitor LCD minimal 17”
o File Server
o CD/DVD Writer
o CD Blank
o Printer A4 Laserjet, speed min 28ppm
o UPS 10 KW
o Document holder and stationary
5.2 Software
The software used by competitors will be representative of widely accepted
International software and may represent several software producers. One
important aspect will be the integration potential between the various types of
software. This will require a careful check but software of the following kind will
be required for each computer system:
o Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
o Microsoft Office 2010
