Psychology ,[object Object],Once upon a time there were people who did what we wanted them to do simply because we wanted them to and it was good for us….. love a good fairytale
Psychology ,[object Object],It’s about me – always has been!
Generation Y The first generation to articulate self interest  - and insist it’s about them
Project Management This is about the PM – old thinking
Big job – get to it This is what the people see – everything they are allocated to as one big maze We leave it up to them!  Our control is an illusion.
What do I do? They decide what they will work on and when – we are left with hopegaement!
Please  - make it about ME But, if we work with psychology……..and make it about each person
Please  - make it about ME We’re back in control – just don’t tell them that They’re clear, we’re clear and calm and progress happens
Problem or solution? I’ll decide what I do when – who gets my share of effort  I’ll follow the path you’ve made clear for me
The race is on Someone is going to solve this – might as well be us!
Threat and opportunity ,[object Object],Problem or solution? It’s our choice and we are best placed to solve it BUT not if we keep looking at our tools as the solution – think bigger!
