1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. Software
For this project I was only using photo editing software to produce most of my media
because it was a print based project which means I don’t have to use any video editing
software. To edit my photos I used a software called Adobe Fireworks, this was
because it was very easy to use and also there were lots of tutorial videos that I could
learn from to effectively use the software, they were:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVqksEZx5hg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrZOHMUZnbo
And these videos enabled me to use the crop tool, erase tool, stamp tool, magic wand
and lasso tool, as well as being able to change the lighting and colour settings of an
image such as changing the brightness, contrast, saturation and hue especially on my
double-page spread image which I took inspiration from The Beatles to have the same
image but change the colour.
3. Software
I also used a publication software called Microsoft Publisher
because I was very familiar with the piece of software and
new how to use this effectively for my project, also it allowed
me to use the setting so that I could have the different types
of pages and layout my magazine content easily so that
everything is in line when I want it to be.
I also used multiple presentation software so that I could
easily present my work to the audience, I mostly used
software such as Slideshare, Emaze and Prezi because they
allowed me to turn me slideshows into more enjoyable and
easily to follow pieces of text and images. I didn’t use video
presentation software because, unlike text and image
presentation software, the viewer can not always rewind the
video and therefore may miss pieces of information.
4. Software
Overall I used WordPress to present all of my project, this is because it is a
blog website therefore the audience can see each individual piece of
information in its own dated blog so that the audience can see how the
project progressed. This is also a negative because if the audience wanted to
see the start of a very long blog then they will have to scroll through all of the
individual blogs because there is no hyperlink to get you back at the start of
the blog.
5. Hardware
For my photo shoot I used a Nikon D3200 24.2 MP Digital SLR camera of
which I borrowed from the photography department within my school, this
was because for my initial photo shoot I used a low budget camera which
didn’t take a high enough quality photo that I could use if my magazine was
going to look professional. The benefit of using a higher quality camera was
that it took a better picture that made it a lot easier to edit my photos in
Fireworks because it meant I could zoom all the way in and there wont be as
many pixels, but also it meant I could resize the images constantly and they
did not differ in quality as much as my initial photo shoot.
