35 years ago, after studying medicine at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands I began my marketing and sales career with Lameris, the distributor for Stryker and Howmedica in the Netherlands. In 1977 I joined van Straten Medical BV in Nieuwegein as the Dutch Marketing and Sales Manager for Zimmer. In 1984 we were so successful that Z|immer set up their own subsidiary in the Netherlands. I stayed with van Straten as Vice President Sales and Marketing responsible for DePuy Orthopaedics.
